FP line for RSR = Wow.

Thursday (June 21) they were not handing out FP early....we didn't have EMH, but they let us in around 7:30 and then herded us up to where the front of the FP line was (at the Theatre). The FP line was quite long already with what must have been EMH because we were in the first 50-75 people through the gates. About 5 minutes before official 8am opening a CM escorted the FP line to the actual FP machines. Our wave of people walked past them just a minute or two laster as they were getting their FP and we were heading to the actual ride lines. When we got to the ride the CMs were announcing that the regular line was approximately 2 hours (which means those folks had spent their EMH standing in the line!) and the SR was declared to be 30 minutes, but in reality we waited closer to 45.

The ride was NOT running when we started in the SR line, so unless it had broken down and was fixed at precisely the right time, they were not running it during EMH.

Good to know. :thumbsup2

We opted for the SR line as well since our FP return time was 3:50 (obtained them at 8:10 :scared1:) and I had no intention of staying in the park that long. The SR line posted 45, but it was more like 30, which was a breeze! I draw the line at 1 hour. ;)

If this not a "once in a lifetime trip" to DCA....then I personally would say wait until your next trip.

The wait times are really hard on the little ones....even first thing in the morning you see a lot of them having meltdowns after waiting for over an hour. I think some ofthe problem is that the cue line isn't very interesting for a non-reader and even if they can read the phrases, most are twists on words, so young kids aren't going to get the jokes. So they're begging Mom to read this or that, and she's getting tired of it, lol. We saw a lot of frustration happening in the regular line and it was first thing in the morning!

This ride will be around for a LONG time so I'd say skip it until the lines become more reasonable.

Thanks for info theparsons! We usually get to the parks every 2 yrs. I think I will at least get a FP (I don't mind the wait) while the rest of the fam takes advantage of the park then meet up with them. If we feel like it will be too much for us I wouldn't mind giving our FP away to someone that can use them.

Wow that is a wait for FP. We are not going to be there until September. I imagine it will still be busy. How is the wait if you get there at opening and riding it at opening instead of waiting for FP.

Are FP's still being issued at ITTBAB?? If so, then WOW, that's a long line!! We're headed to DCA in August, do you think the FP machines at RSR will be operational by then? Just trying to get my game plan together so I know where to go to stand in line.

I think that's a good plan. I really think you should try to ride though! If you've got FP and things are running reasonably smoothly (fingers crossed for you) the wait time usually isn't bad at all.

I'd probably just divide and conquer using your FP since the child swap return is through the FP line anyway... unless you want to try and ride more than once, but that probably would be too much with your young ones and an 18 mo old to keep happy too.

The ITTBAB FP machines have been down for several years because they were no longer needed.

They are using the machines at It's Tough To Be A Bug all summer. FP will not be available at the attraction till after the summer crowds go away.

Is there any minimum age on the single rider line? We have a 4 and 5 year old and was considering sending my wife on first then the boys with me going last.

The CM's I've talked to think it won't be until next year. They're anticipating a long FP line for the next year, and as long as the FP line is long, they will keep it at ITTBAB to keep the crowds away from each other.

Wait im confused lol. Is the FP machines for RSR near the exit and adjacent to Stanley or are they at the its tough to be a bug entrance where the character meet and greets were?

I was there on Monday. We were in line for DCA at 7:15 and were close to the front of the line to enter the park. They let us in the gates at 7:30. We were close to the front of the rope drop near the RSR FP distribution. There were A LOT of EMH people lining up for their FPs, and after a while it looked like they were being distributed, but I can't be sure. The line was moving, but they could have opened up more sections. At rope drop we got in the FP line and waited about 20 minutes for our FPs with a return time of 11:30. We tried to get in a SR line twice that morning (wanted to ride RSR more that once!), but were turned away both times. We were told that the SR line was closed because it was already over an hour. At 11:30 we got in the FP return line and waited 30 minutes to ride. What an amazing ride! During that morning the standby line was anywhere from 3 to 4 hours long.

It seems like this is Disneylands policy:

•Supervise children at all times. Children under age 7 years must be accompanied by a person age 14 years or older.

You can always call Disney and ask about age requirements.

right now they are at the entrance to its tough to be a bug.
They have fast pass machines that are not in use by the entrance to RSR.
Did anyone else find the entrance to RSR tough to find (being all the way at the end and around a small corner) and extremely crowded area?

:scared:

And this is the line to get a FP?

:scared1:

I mean I knew it was would be long, but wow.

Like I told my mom: getting in the park right at 8, is getting there late if you want to ride RSR.

But actually 30 minutes to get to the front of that line doesn't seem bad IMO. It's the fact that it's for a FP and not the ride.

I really wonder what the FP return line looks like and how long that wait is.

Well according to Twitter reports today has been a very light day at the parks. People are reporting RSR standby at only 80 minutes and SR at just 30! That's what you get with triple blockout days.

That is very exciting news, and very promising for my weekend trip in 2 weeks.

Children must be at least 7yo or accompined by someone at least 14yo. Obviously a 4yo & 5yo will not be able to ride single, would you want them to ride with complete strangers anyway?

Either you or your wife should wait in line for FP while the other takes the kids on a few rides.

The line is from the front of BL and out to Hyperion.

At 9:20 am the FP return was for 8:30 pm and the standby line was posted at 150 minutes with the single rider at 45 min.

FPs are probably going to run out by 9:30am every day no matter how busy the parks because of the mad rush to grab FP in the morning. That said, 150 min at 9:20am is the shortest standby time for that hour I've heard of all week. Typically it's been 120 min at 8am, quickly going up to around 210 min all day. The 80 min standby times I heard were for the afternoon after the morning rush had subsided.
