FP+ Kiosks in parks

When I called to make our DVC reservation for August I asked about these. The cast memeber at member services told me that after you book your 3 FP+s for the day you can use the kiosks in the parks to get additional FPs for that day? Is that true? Seems if thats the case maybe it wont be so bad.
