:surfweb: Next month is to be my first Disney adventure, so pardon my ignorance on the matter. I thought at my "30 day mark" (yes staying offsite) I would be able to make Fast Passes for the full week we are going. I know now how that is just silly since, how would Disney know when I'll be there unless I am staying on site? But anyways, I went to bed at 10:30 because I couldn't keep my eyes open anymore (I'm all old...) and set my alarm for 11:45pm. Woke up to realize I would only be able to do my arrival day today (not even going to a freaking park on arrival day!!) and would have to do this EVERY NIGHT for the next week to set every day. I'm falling asleep at my desk since I couldn't get back to bed until freaking 4am. No way I can hang with this :(

Question is this: Do I REALLY need to do this at midnight??? We are arriving for the week of Oct 25. Do all of you off-site-stayers stay up to set FP's at midnight all the time?? :faint:

I'm sorry! :surfweb:

We ARE staying onsite, starting Nov. 7, and I haven't made my FP+ yet. Haven't even linked my park passes to my account. I just can't get that worked up about it, barely even excited for the trip. I am trying to make smart decisions about my FP+ but when it gets my anxiety going, I just let it go. I can try again tomorrow. SO... I would say, don't stress about this too much. Make the FP+ whenever it's convenient.

FP+ reservations are tied to the number of days tickets you have linked to your MDE account. So for example, if I am staying on property I could book at the 60 day mark for the number of days I have tickets for. If I am staying 7 nights but only bought 4 day passes I could only book FP+ reservations for the 4 days. I would think that is the same for staying off property but I am not positive.

What has you so stressed about picking your FP+? All you have to do is pick which park you will be visiting and then select 3 rides that you want to ride. Also, since you waited so long to do it, you might be out of luck for alot of headliners.

At 30 days out I don't think you need to set your alarm. The only impossible reservations will be mine train and Anna/Elsa which will be hard to get anyways. I missed my 60 day opening by 1 day and have not been able to get Anna/Elsa and snagged 1 mine train fp. We leave tomorrow and I've been checking for 60 days. All the others I've been able to change and had no problems getting.

First - you need to put your tickets into your MDE account - like kimbe21 said - your FP+ ressies are tied to the number of days tickets you have linked to that account I believe.

I have never gotten up in time to make my FP+ reservations at Midnight. I do them when I wake up in the morning. I've only ever had problems getting Anna/Elsa (A&E) and the Seven Dwarves Mine Train (7DMT), the parades and Fireworks FP+ because of that. If those are crucial, you'll want to try to get them at midnight towards the end of your trip.

I miss the old days of paper FP - booking them online is no fun. Good Luck!

I wouldn't.

I am a hardcore, serious planner. If you looked at my touring plans, you would think I was crazy. But here's the thing: they're just plans. Sometimes they don't work out. That's fine - you just readjust and move on.

I cannot imagine a situation where not riding a particular ride or not seeing a girl dressed up in a glorified Halloween costume would ruin my vacation. There are plenty of things to lose sleep over in this life - in my opinion, fastpasses are not among them.

I think you do the best you can. If you are early in the window you should be fine.

I did stay up until midnight for the week of my FP window. I wanted 7DMT and Wishes, I was able to get everything I wanted. For me, it was worth it to stay up.

Offsiters don't get the +10 window that onsite guests do. Their 30 day window is a rolling one, rather than being for the length of their ticket. So they have to book each day as the window opens. If they have a 10 ticket, that means 10 consecutive days of logging in to MDE and making FP+s.

OP, I'd say that right now there is no advantage to staying up every night. During party season, the hard-to-get FP+s are all gone at 60 days anyway, and there are no problems with availability for most other FP+s until a day or two before. I don't think you're going to harm yourself by waiting an extra 6 hours until morning to make your FP+s.

As others have said, only Anna & Elsa and 7DMT are hard to get, maybe the parades and Wishes too. The rest you can pretty much book any time with good availability though maybe not the best pick of times for some things.

A lot depends on when you go. We stayed offsite during our last trip and it was Spring Break.

Based on our experience, I would be online at midnight to get Anna and Elsa or the Seven Dwarves Mine Train (and parades and fireworks if you want those). I would be sure to set up the rest as soon as possible if not at the 30 day mark. The headliners were gone at Epcot and AK when we went but there was still some availability a few weeks ahead of time. MK wasn't as bad. You will be competing with those who can get them at 31-60 days plus it will be busy so you might not be able to get the exact times you want.

I've never stayed offsite since FP+ has been implemented but I would think you could make all of your FP reservations for the number of days you have tickets for just like onsite guests but at 30 days instead of 60 days out. Are your tickets linked to your account? How many days are your tickets for?

At 30 days out, I wouldn't bother staying up until midnight- onsite guests have already been booking for 30 days before you so the big ticket items worth staying up for are most likely all gone by now. Just make your selections at a time best for you.

You can't make the reservations for each day until you are 30 days out. You have do each day one at a time when it reaches 30 days.

I also wouldn't give up on getting the headliners just because you are staying offsite. You might have to search around and book for one person at a time but you can find most things.

We have 4 days of tickets, but it will only let me access the 25th of October. Well, it's bittersweet to hear it really won't matter because most will be gone anyways :guilty: but it is as it is. Still super excited to go. I guess I'll set mine tomorrow when I wake up for work. Not worried about A&E because we are not interested in character meets anyways for the most part, and I'll just try to ride 7DMT first thing if possible :) Thanks all :)

Well, I'm not really that interested in that one particularly, just hopeful we'd get to see it but I guess not, haha. I'm really just interested in seeing and doing as much as possible for the thousands we've spent for this experience for our kids. I'm just hoping with all the insane crowd reports and rides "selling out" that it ends up being worth it for our family. This wasn't an easy thing for us to swing on our income!! Fingers crossed!

And now I'm thrilled I get to sleep in!

No, I actually find I can "pick up" fp easiest around 7-10 am for whatever reason. There is still good availability for most things (I'm going oct 17-24) except a& e, parades, 7dmt, Peter Pan and enchanted tales with belle. Toy story is getting low. If you look on the lines app it shows the "next available fp" and I always try for the ones without any first

You're not going at a particularly busy time of year, so as long as you don't mind a wait, you'll be able to hit 7DMT. We hit it during Wishes in June and it was essentially a walk-on. We then rode it several days later, right around "park closing". We waited about an hour, but it was our last night in WDW, so we didn't really care.

Also, keep trying. Look as singles. I keep seeing 7dmt and a & e for one person so i'm sure if you keep trying you can get them
