Hi,

Does anyone know if you can still stay in a Disney resort and get KTTW cards and NOT use MB's and not use FP+?

In other words, can you still do Disney the old way?

Thank you!!

(For the record, I am not asking about double dipping but if you have the choice)

Legacy FP was turned off in the last park this week. It is not expected to return. You have FP+ and you have standby.

All legacy machines in all the parks are covered and not accessible. So, no, you cannot use the old FP system. You can get cards to use at the FP+ machines.

You don't have to use FP+, but you would be riding everything standby. That's pretty old school.

Very sad news!! I really liked the old system.

Thank you for the replies everyone!

IMO- do your best to embrace it b/c it's what we have. Imperfect for sure, but it does have some benefits.

Namely, you don't have to get to DHS early for a FP and wait around for the window to open. Our FP+ trips have involved AK in the AM using EMH or ripe drop and the hopping late afternoon over to DHS and having our FP+ rides there. Pretty good for our family since we don't generally care for DHS and before FP+ we found ourselves killing time in the park or going early, getting FP and then just returning to the hotel to wait out the time.

The worst really is the 3 limit for high old FP system users and for now there is no around that.

Good luck!

YES, YOU are right - there are some positives to the new system. I also like knowing that you have a FP for TSMM before going to DHS. I went several times to DHS to try to ride TSMM before FP+ and never managed to get a FP- so I didn't ride it until last Nov. (I NEVER am able to make it to rope drop - too old and too many health issues to be fast in the morning)

I never did pull a lot of FP in the past, but we do like to park hop. I will miss being able to get a FP or two in different parks.

Tiering and no park hopping are my personal biggest issues. Still, it is good to know how the system works now so that you can plan.

I have done FP+ before. We couldn't change FP's as we went however. I could never get on the system with my phone to change the FP+ so we were stuck with whatever we had booked weeks before. If I could have, I would have used the old system this time around instead. We wanted a less structured decide as you go trip. Oh, well.

I'm sure that it will be fine once we get used to it. But it feels like an adjustment.
