Does anyone wonder what the final FP+ will look like! once they ever finish rolling it out?

Do you think that this stupid 3 FP restriction and the tiering system (Disney, what were you thinking?) will be looked back on as a stupid mistake and we will simply revert back to the original style of fast pass, just using your magic band? But with the added bonus of being able to book the 3 online as well if you want to.

To me this seems really logical. Am I mad for thinking this?

My uneducated guess is that the wristbands stay along with an altered FP+ system that allows @ 5 FPs in multiple parks without tiers. Who knows about timing.

I really do love the idea of the wrist bands, it seems like it will enable you to have an uncomplicated day, no need even for a wallet if you want to travel light. I'm all for for making things easier. I'm kinda holding out hope that by our trip in September lots of the kinks will have been ironed out

I think that Disney learned earlier this fall that they couldn't let FP+ be free-for-alls at Epcot and DHS. The ride capacity at those parks simply can't handle it, hence the tiers. I think we're stuck with them (and I wish we weren't).

I think FP+ and MBs are here to stay. I think paper FPs will be gone. I'm hoping more FP+ will be allowed, but really, unless they get rid of the tiers, are going to be useless.

So I'm hoping that there will be like 4 or 5 FP+ a day to use in multiple parks. But realistically, I doubt that will happen. :sad1:

The thing I don't understand (and I may just be being daft) is why, if the number of fast passes stays the same as it always was on each ride (a certain number per return time, and a certain number per day) why were the rides overloaded. It just doesn't make sense to me. Did they go crazy on the numbers they allocated?

Booking starting 60 days in advance makes the must-do rides' FP run out quickly.

(Something so many of us here knew would be the case since FP+ was just a glint in a bean-counter's eye.)

I'm not looking forward to that - I'm a bit of a planner so that I can make my ADR's and admittedly, not having to half kill myself running across Epcot for Soaring fast passes will be nice but I hate the idea of planning my trip to that degree

I overheard a "manager type" in Epcot on Thursday talking to some guests. He said as soon as the testing phase is over you will be able to book in more than one park on a single day. Not sure if he was correct, but it's certainly what he said...

Fingers crossed for that. Tbh, I'm not sure how much of an issue it will be in the low seasons. Last year we only needed a rare few fast passes as crowd levels were so good. Hopefully that will continue for us this year

My guess is the that it will look like this:

- Pre-booking (60 days in advance) FP+ will be limited to onsite guests and AP holders
- You will only get to pre-book 3 FP+ in advance each day
- You will be able to get more day of (no more than 3 at one time)
- Pre-booking will be limited to one park at a time
- Day of FP+ will NOT be limited to one park at a time but you will still be limited to only 3 at one time.
- Tiers will be in effect for pre-booking...but not for day of reservations
- You can ride an attraction more than once with FP+ but you can only have one FP+ reservation at a time for an attraction.

What I wish (but don't think will happen):

- FP+ kiosks would replace all current FP kiosks and getting day of FP+ would work exactly like current FP where you go there with your RFID ticket, tap it to the screen, and get a reservation time just like you do now.

This is exactly what I'm hoping will happen, and hopefully by September 2014 lol

I really hope this is true! So far this it my biggest worry. We like to park hop and this is super limiting for us. This system has some advatages as We don't do rope drop either so being able to book a fast pass for toy story is fantastic.....but our next trip will have to be more planned than usual. Only time will tell how this ends up working but with all the $$$$$ Disney spent it's here to stay and will be tweaked as guests give feedback.

If they do open it up to more than one park per day, I'll be curious to see that play out.

Instead of one day at Epcot and one day at DHS, wouldn't everyone just split both days (doing 2 half days at each park) and then end up with more headliner access, sort of defeating the purpose of tiering?

I sortof wish they would do it like the dining credits.. pool them together for length of ticket/stay and you decide how/when/where to use them! wishful thinking right lol...

I think what you are saying here sounds along the lines of what the goal might be, however, I don't think more than one FP+ in a day for a single attraction is likely, at least for headliners.

Now this would give me back some of the freedom that I'm missing!

There is only one way to know for sure...

More seriously: there are really only two options. Option one: the folks who run the most popular and successful theme park collection in the world have no idea what they are doing and are just hoping that this will accomplish some unknown goal. Option two: those folks have a halfway decent idea of what they are doing, and while they can't perfectly predict how guests will respond to this new scheme, they have a pretty good idea and will only need to tweak it here and there.

Time will tell which of those turns out to be true, but my money is on #2.

Ever heard of "Light Magic?"

They don't bat 1.000. Luminaria was another bust. But, they are pretty close. For every failure one can name, one can also come up with many successes.

But, you are right. They are not perfect. So, like I said, time will tell. But, I'm betting on #2, and I like my odds.
