Disney is testing FP+ for OFFsite guests at Animal Kingdom this week. Don't know how long the test will run, but we were told today and several more days.
We were there this morning, and they made an announcement on the parking lot tram. They have numerous FP+ stations set up with CMs to help schedule FP+'s for arriving OFFsite guests.
We were kind of in a rush (and staying onsite w/Magic Bands), so I didn't go by and ask questions. But from the info we received, it appears they are linking your FP+ selections to your park tickets instead of Magic Bands. Not sure how they are reading the tickets at the attractions. They were allowing scheduling of three different attractions, just like the MBs.
Very few of the offsite guests had any clue what they were talking about, and the way they sprung it on them created a good bit of confusion...and I'm guessing very low participation. It's pretty unrealistic to grab a newbie visitor as they enter AK for the first time in their lives and ask them which three attractions they want to schedule Fast Passes for!
"Attractions...what attractions do you have?"
"Fast Pass? What is a Fast Pass?"
Anyway, just wanted to give folks a heads up that they are testing for OFFsite guests.
