So long story short I messed up with our holiday plans :(

Paul and I are going for 15 nights and the boys are joining us for 10 nights. All along in my head I thought 15 nights, 15 days which will be fine as Paul and I are going to Downtown Disney the first night so won't be using a park entry.

Anyway FP day came around yesterday and I couldn't make any FP+ for Paul and my last day. When I rang up Disney IT too question why she pointed out that 15 nights = 16 days and I had already made 14 days worth of FP+ so that was then end of my 14 day tickets, therefore I couldn't make any FP+ selections for our last day (day 15)

Today I logged into DS MDE account and made FP+ for all 4 of us for our last day. Now the boys have valid tickets as they will only have been there for 11 days. Paul and I are going to use my sister and her partners tickets/MB to gain entry to the parks as they are going to KSC for the day.

So my question is if I use my sisters MB to get into the park will I be able to use the FP+ that is on my MB ?

Do you not have to scan a finger print when entering a park with a magic band ?

The biggest issue is you can not use somebody else's ticket to gain access to the parks - they are non-transferable and require a finger scan on entry. If caught (which is possible as the finger scan won't match) the ticket will be confiscated and cancelled. You could also end up in trouble as they clearly say non-transferable on them.

You will be best off upgrading your tickets to 21 day tickets - it isn't a lot more and you won't have any hassle however you need to do that here before you go.

The other option is to not go to the Disney parks on one of your days and then your tickets will be valid on day 15.

Thanks Elise for that info. I've just upgrade mine and Paul's tickets to 21 days for only £40 so all is now sorted :)

Question about FP+. I thought if you were staying on site it was from 60 days out that you could obtain FP+ but when I was on MDE to check it is only showing up until 4th September and we don't fly out until 10th October.

:confused3

The 60 day window will only open for the exact dates of your reservation up until and after that point it will only be 30 days :goodvibes

So if my check in date is Friday 10th October I should count back 60 days from that date and on that date (I think around 13th August) the window will open up for our trip?

Is it like booking ADR's when you get +10 or do you get your whole trip available? or do you need to log in each day to book FP+? :confused3

I didn't calculate but it sounds about right. 60 days out.

You currently have tickets as part of your package.

You could be in Florida right now, staying offsite and willing to use those tickets of yours.
Disney has no way of knowing you're not in Florida right now. So you are given the opportunity to book FP+ 30 days out, like any other offsiter. Because for all Disney knows, you might want to go to the parks tomorrow, after all you have tickets (even though UK tickets are not valid until check in, but that's too complicated for Disney IT to do anything about that :p )

Once you're 60 days out of your check in date, you will be acknowledged as an onsiter, and get the 60 days advance FP+ reservation.

But up until that 60 days mark, you're an offsiter and therefore are only entitled to a 30 days FP+ window

you're supposed to be able to book FP+ for your length of stay, for as many days as you have tickets for (except if you're AP, then it's only 7 days)

Your 60 days is August 11th :)

The first 14 days will open at 60 days out then each day one more day will get added on the end until your check out date is open. :thumbsup2

Actually, it does know your tickets are valid until check in - if you try to book any FP+ before your resort check in you will get to the page where you select who you are booking for and it will have 'not eligible for FP+' next to the names and you can't select them :thumbsup2

With an AP, you can book any 7 of the next thirty days, except when booked on site, then you can book for length of stay.

Would I be correct in assuming then...

We arrive and check in to AKL on Monday 20th - so that is day 1 and after 14 nights - our checkout day is 3rd November effectively day 15. There are normally no problems with using the 14 day tickets on 15 days, however, I am concerned that the FP+ will prevent us booking anything for our last day?

We are AKL 7 nights, Cruise 4 nights & Cont 3 nights - even though there is a separate booking for the last resort the FP+ links to a valid ticket not to stay?

Does, therefore, our 14 days worth of FP+ have to start on our check in day?

Any input greatly appreciated - I can always give them a call!

You can book any 14 days worth of FP+ with a 14 day ticket. It doesn't have to start on check in day and you don't have to book every day:)

If I now have 21 day tickets can I now book all 16 days worth of FP+ ?

So we got our FP+ booked, although I did hope that we were able to choose our time slot or ask for a specific time rather than be allocated 3 times for 3 different rides.

It's going to cause us to change some of our "touring plan" plans for the parks to adapt the FP into our plans which MrsB isn't happy about as she would rather "just go in the normal line" surely using FP will benefit us?

thoughts?

I don't do mine until Thursday, but I was under the impression that once you'd picked one of the time slots closest to what you wanted, you could then go back into each attraction and tweak it to suit you more. Were you not able to do that?
