FP+ Help for Parties

can someone please explain to me how FP+ works for MNSSHP and MVMCP? I know FP+ can be made between 4 and 7 with a party ticket, but I'm trying to understand the ifs and buts. Is it only if that's your only ticket linked? Or only if you don't have other FP+ scheduled for that day? What's the deal with this? TIA!

You can book 3 FP+ between 3:30 & 6:30pm using only your party ticket.
You can have any other tickets in MDE, too, but you can't have booked any other FP+ anywhere at WDW that day if you want to book FP+ using your party ticket.
