we just got back from a great 9 day vacation. We camped at Ft Wilderness and it is a great place. Everything was great and fun, except a lot of severe thunder storms that closed a lot of the outdoor rides at MK, but we couldn't control that. We were a party of 8 and did several meal reservation and those were great too. Although, I was the one ,asking all the reservations, but about half showed up under the other family's last name... Weird, but they were there.
Because my group was not early risers, most of our fast passes were in the afternoon. We did get to AK for the safari walk on (30 min) and FP the Rapids, yeti and Dino rides. As we left, the lighting was walking us out, so a perfectly planned day. We did fin out that at HS and MK, you can get more done with the late EMH than you can by being there all day!!! We arrived our first day at HS around 2, walked on Star Tours, Muppets and walked around a bit, did our lunch resissies at Sci-Fi and then FP RNR and TOT that afternoon. That night was EMH till midnight, so after the Frozen fireworks (which was great by the way), we did RNR(2x), TOT,(2x) & TSM. And then the same for MK, we had a few days there and our plans were disturbed by weather, so FP no good caused closed for rain. We went back on EMH at 6 and did ALOT of things that were walk on. Even mine train had a 20 min wait, so we rode it twice.
As for Park Hoppers, we have always used them and had them this trip but because we had FP either mid afternoon or evening and our meal ressies, we couldn't really use them this time. So, we probably won't use them again. The campground had a lot of activities to keep us busy during the morning/mid afternoon that we didn't miss a walking around the big parks. We did Epcot and AK in 1 day each. And multiple days in HS/MK.
The app worked great for checking wait times around the parks and was a great asset. The we-if was great through out the park sweats great also. And we had a great vacation, did most everything and now have a lot of memories. We just found a new way do do things and will save a lot of money since Disney has changed their way of doing things.
