FP from DVC tour: worth it?

Disney's website mentions 3 free FP for an in person DVC tour. Has anyone done this and how long does it last? Do the FP cover new/good rides like FOP? Have they ever given more than 3. For a family of 4, just 3 FP doesn't seem the most useful.

Also curious if it is 3 per person at the tour. Also curious how long the tour lasts and if the Fast Passes are for any ride (paper) or just opportunities to make Fast Passes on an account.

FPs do not cover Pandora, Frozen, or Peter Pan. Maybe not 7dmt either (I'm listing this from memory). It is 3 per person and they are automatically linked to your MBs. Tour takes about an hour and it is pretty low pressure. Best idea is to time one after a trip to a park, as you get a free van ride to Wilderness Lodge and then back to your resort if you are staying on property.

We did in August. It was 3 per person and agree it didn't cover rides poster above listed. We also got a gift card ($50 or $100).

Worth it

So my kids would have to come as well for them to get FP’s as well? Meaning if l booked Dvc tour and my wife and I went but kids stayed back with my in laws at the resort how would that work? Thanks for any info

Correct. They have ipads loaded with Disney Junior episodes, but it is not nearly as fun as the theme parks for them.

I’m wondering this too. We might do this on Epcot or HS day but I was just wondering if during the amount of time it would take to do the tour we could have done 3 major rides anyway. Depends how crowded it is that day I suppose.

This was why we never bothered with the tour....the time spent doing that could instead be used on rides....or relaxing.

Anyone with insight???

I have been talking to a DVC rep for about a year and a half. I have all the current info but have never been on an official tour. we have taken two trips within this time and haven’t wanted to take time away from our family vacation.

Hubby and I are heading down at the end of April and I want to do an official tour with him on our resort day and before our dinner at 7 at DS. Hubby won’t go unless there is some sort of incentive (it’s his bday and isn’t as interested in DVC ownership, but willing enough to listen to my “dream”). My rep says he doesn’t know anything about incentives but I always read these stories about gift cards or FPs. Should I call someone else other than our contact to set something up? Do I flat out ask if there is an incentive? We won’t need FPs since our park days are over, but going with the kids in November and would appreciate a gift card.

Feel greedy but it is time away from a paid vacation and and I know this is part of the process.

Thanks!

If you are even considering buying ( or just want the fast passes) I feel the tour was worth it. We did it last October, at Saratoga Springs. They picked us up at our hotel in an accessible van (my mom had her scooter).
Once at SS you are greeted, offered refreshments and pastries, then watch a short film. Maybe 10 minutes or so.

You then meet your rep and he/she walks with you over to where the suite mock ups are. We really enjoyed seeing actual suites set up. I believe they had Aulani, Wilderness Lodge, Polynesian, and another I can’t remember.
You then go into an office and your rep goes over some numbers with you.
We had some questions, so perhaps our tour took a little longer. I think we were there about 2 hours.

We then walked over to a counter to get our fast passes loaded on to our bands. 3 per person. And each room, not per person, got a $100 gift card. They have an area by the counter we’re kids can color and have ice cream if they don’t want to sit through the presentations.

When finished they dropped us off at Animal Kingdom, per our request. We enjoyed it.

And as others have stated, the fast passes weren’t good for Mine Train, Frozen, etc. and be sure you use your regular fast passes in their time window, not a minute off, or the system will use your anytime passes given at the tour

I wouldn't take time away from the parks, but we did it once on a non-park day and I'm glad we did.

Had no real interest in buying but was very interested in learning about it. I think total it took a couple of hours and, as noted, we got the fast passes, FREE ICE CREAM, and then a van ride to wherever we wanted to go, and since we were going to play mini golf that day that door-to-door transportation was welcomed.

This was nine years ago, so your mileage may vary, as they say.

During our 2016 trip, we came back to our POR room to find a card stock “painting” in an envelope with a DVC tour offer of a $100 gc with the 3 fps and ice cream. We signed up at the kiosk in MK near Frontierland.
We took our kids with us and enjoyed the tour very much. There was lemonade and snacks at the beginning. We especially enjoyed the suite mock ups. Ice cream was at the end.
Our rep was wonderful. The entire thing was probably a little more than 2 hours.
The fps were linked using our magic bands.
They picked us up at POR and dropped us off at Disney Springs, per our request.
We didn’t purchase DVC, but we learned a lot and enjoyed the tour.

I had to remind the rep giving me the DVC tour that I was told by the rep who signed me up for the tour session that I would receive the 100 dollar gift card and the fast passes. He was ready to send me on my way with nothing. The fast passes are not for Pandora rides, Frozen and some other rides.

I think it might depend on the time and the rep. at the time. A few years ago we were walking by one of the booths in Epcot and my son and DIL decided to stop just to get some info. since they were curious. The reps. talked us into "taking the tour" and we decided why not since we didn't have anything else to do for a while. Our only stipulation was we had to be back in two hours after the tour time because I wanted to see Herman's Hermits (F&G). No problem they said. We happened to be staying in a studio at BW at the time, not renting points just booked the room through Disney and it was cheaper than a regular room. A van picked us up behind the scenes at Epcot and took us to BW (um you could walk there quicker) took us to the sales office. The rep. gave us the spiel, showed up videos of the different resorts and rooms, gave us a coke and talked my son and DIL into buying. I tried to convince them to wait and talk about it but Mom doesn't know anything, she got it in the divorce (listen to Mom next time). After 3 hours, we left with a plastic tote bag and the coke they gave us, walked back to Epcot and missed Herman Hermits. I think at the time they were offering gift cards but the kids didn't even get that. Total waste of time and we didn't even get a tour of a unit.

Does DVC still give the perks (FastPasses, gift card, etc.) to people that already have DVC, if they do the tour?

Last June my daughters boyfriend did the tour and I tagged along with my two daughters. He got the gift card and we all got fast passes. I own DVC.

That would make sense, as they were trying to sell to him. I have heard in the past that previous owners can get the FPs but not the giftcard. I cannot confirm this though.

We did it the saratoga tour back in Jan. we were offered $100 GCs each, Free ice cream and 3 FPs. Took 2 hours since I had tons of questions. I would do it again if there was a GC involved.
