We have an opportunity to go to MK for one day next week. We are going to be about two hours away and decided to take a day trip. I haven't bought our tickets yet. My understanding is that since it is value season we could use the ticket on any value day. Since we've waited so long my inclination is to be flexible on the day and choose the best day weather wise. I know once we buy the tickets we can book FP ( and I would like to book some in advance). My question is if we ended up booking them and then decided to go a different day do you just cancel those FP and then be able to book them for a different day? Any advice/input would be appreciated. And it's for a party of six (my husband, myself, 2 daughters age 4 and 7, and dad and stepmom). My husband and girls just got back from a trip in December (and had 3 days in the MK) so I'm ok with not seeing/doing everything but I never turn down a chance to visit! It's been 20+ years since my dad has been there. Thank you for the advice!

You should have no problem booking most FPs last minute! This time of year especially, FPs for all rides except SDMT, PPF, and FEA are widely available the day before (sometimes even morning of). On the MDE app you can change them at any time! If you have a single 1-day ticket purchased on your account, you can make FPs for any 1 day. If you decide to go a different day, you'll need to cancel the initial FPs before you'll be allowed to book them for a different day. Hope this helps!
