Does the 7-day limit apply if you are staying on property?

I am an AP holder and I am coming for a stay in late August for 8 days, and all my FPs are booked. I just decided to also come down for a weekend. Shouldn't I be able to make FPs for this weekend since the other FPs are tied to a resort reservation?

If I stay on property, would I be able to get FPs for Saturday then?

With all the system issues they are having lately and as clueless as some cast members can be, I don't know what to think.

Annual Pass (AP) holders have similar benefits as onsite guests when staying at an onsite resort. The primary difference is that AP holders can book up to 7 days of FPs at all times, and more if the length of the onsite stay is greater.

I don't think you will be able to make additional fast passes. I had a trip planned in March and had my fast passes booked. Then I had a unexpected free weekend where I could have made a long weekend trip in mid-February so I tried to make fast passes and I couldn't and I called and they said that my allotted fast passes were already tied up. That was frustrating because it for two different vacations and I would have been staying on-site for both. In the end I didn't go for a variety of reasons in February.

Side note: When I was making my fast passes for my March trip I could only make 7 days worth of fast passes on-line, but my husband called about the 8th day we would be there and they manually made our fast passes.

We just got back from a two week trip to WDW and I made some fastpasses at the start and end of the trip and worked my way towards the middle of our trip. By the time I had fastpasses for 12 days they said I had reached a limit, which is frustrating because the website said length of stay and I was staying longer than that. I didn't bother calling this time because one day we didn't have FP was a day we were doing other stuff all day and the other was towards the end of the trip so we knew we would be able to grab something when we had used a few days worth of fp's.

That really stinks because we are getting penalized for having APs and we should be getting rewarded. Dang. Like you, if I can't book any Fastpasses, we probably won't go. Disney is shooting themselves in the foot with this - especially if you're staying on property!

You get length of stay at the Disney resort. But if you later book a trip earlier you don't get to make the FP.

It really sucks especially for us out of town APers. I wish they would only limit it for Silver or weekday select since they pay so much less. We're coming for 2 weeks in Sept but were only able to book 7 days even with a 2 day onsite stay at the beginning.

Does anyone know what happens if say you have two trips about a month apart (let's pretend their for January and February), both staying onsite, but haven't booked FP for either trip yet? From the posts above, it sounds like w/ AP, you can't book FP's for February first, then try to get FP for January. But what about the other way around? Could you book FP for January, and then still be able to book FP for February? Or will there still be that issue of 7 days/length of stay max FP being used up for January?

Years ago during SWW I stayed on property 4 nights a week for 5 weeks. I was able to call tech support and that cm was able to set it up so that I could get all 20 days of FP. I could not make FP for any days in between.

I just made a 'fake' reservation a week after my August one, and though I am holding 8 days of fastpasses for that trip, it let me go in and make fastpass selections for the week later. Which is really good, b/c after thinking about it, I realized I have the same situation as you but mine is late October, then Thanksgiving. So that would have really sucked. But it looks like if you are staying on property and making the Fastpass selections in order by trip, it will work. Good grief Disney makes things complicated.

My understanding is that if you have two onsite stays that are longer than 7 days you can make fast passes for all the days because you have a hotel reservation for everything. You only run into an issue about getting more fast passes if one of your visits you’re staying offsite. Then you can’t have fast passes if it puts you over 7 days

we are APs. had a stay in July on-site for 4 nights, have a stay booked for Aug 5 nights and one for sept for 8 nights. i had fast passes booked for all my days back in July. with the July trip I had 17 days of FP booked. right now i have 13 days worth of fast passes all for days we are on site. i think it’s the resort stays that let us do this. Haven’t heard from Disney so hope I’m good to go. We stay at the Fort most of the time. I’ve always wondered about the people who book the Fort for the year, one month at a time. How do their fast passes work?

For the past 6/7 years we have visited every Thanksgiving then Christmas onsite with AP's and have never had an issue. This year we also had an April trip and then a May trip and couldn't make our FP+ for all the days of our onsite stays. I called the regular line and the CM kept telling me the resort reservation did not override the AP limit even though I knew it had in the past.

Ended up calling guest relations (I had a contact from a prior issue) and she said that the resort reservation should indeed override and didn't know why it wasn't but she made all our FP+ reservations for us.

That is good to know. If I have issues moving forward I will call guest relations instead of Tech Support. Thanks all!!

Thanks. I hope making FP in order of upcoming trips continues to work and the issue w/ TJ's April/May trips was just a fluke and not the new norm.

It has to have been a fluke.
We had May/June and July and then August/Sept trips booked and could book FP without issue.
We almost always have 2 on site trips that total over 7 days and have never had any issues with limits. I never book an earlier trip over a later trip. They are always in booked in calendar order.
Not only can you book FP for the 2nd trip, the FP window for your 2nd trip will open 1 day early.
