My sister and I are traveling with our cousin (she's in first grade) next month. We're staying 3 nights at AoA, planning on two MK days and one MVMCP. My sis and I are using hard tickets from when we were kids, which we thought was sooo cute until we realized we couldn't book our fastpasses in advance! Hahaha! :crazy2: Anyway, after choosing our MVMCP fastpasses at 60 days out and getting more familiar with the process, I realized I could book my cousin's fastpasses for our regular MK days. So I did.

So, does anyone know how the hard-ticket thing goes at the gate? Will they be able to make the tickets appear in My Disney Experience? Will it take 10 minutes or 45 minutes? Any chance they'll just add us to my cousin's fastpasses? Basically, am I a fool to be planning around the fastpasses I booked for my cousin? Thanks in advance.

You should be able to add your "old" tickets to MDE right now.
Input the ticket numbers.

If you have trouble...
Call WDW Ticketing at

(407) 566-4985 (option 5)

Hours: 8:30-16:30 ET Mon-Sat

You can add your old ticket to MDE and then exchange it when you get to the parks. There is a way to input a ticket number into MDE to get it linked. IF this doesn't work you can call the number and they will link it for you.

Huh. I did try entering in the numbers found on the back of the ticket and then calling months ago, and the phone CMs said that since the tickets were pre-2004 (or some year around there) I couldn't link them before I got to the parks.

Sounds like I should call again tomorrow. It can't hurt to talk to a different CM.

wow i had no idea.
i should link my parent's tickets because they are headed down in a few weeks with tickets from 2008 which was the last time they went without staying onsite with a package.

although when my paretns head down by themselves they tend to have no set schedule at all so making FP+ before hand would be pretty pointless but i gess my mom could do it on her phone the day of.

I was able to add tickets from 2002 to my MDE. Had to call to do it though

I did it with old tickets as well just last year. You will need to call and be prepared to answer some questions. I had to know what month/year and park the ticket was used at last. I had to do some digging to figure it out but I did and they were like to my MDE to do our FP+. Good luck!

ugh perhaps i'll just have my parents link at the gate when they trade for rfid tickets.
they won't call and i don't know exact info.

That reminds me - I forgot this, because we were researching it months and months ago - One of the phone CMs said if we could find the last four digits of the credit card used to purchase the tickets in 1992 they would be able to verify them. My parents actually found the credit card number...but the next CM we talked to said it still wasn't possible to verify/link the tickets. What year were your tickets?

For anyone with really old tickets, try adding them via your MDE account using a computer rather than the app. I wasn't able to get my ticket numbers from 2001 to take in the app, but after phoning the person I spoke to prompted me to use my account online on my computer and the took no problem. I still have to trade for tickets when I get there but at least I can book FP's.

The app says that tickets purchased in 2007 and later should be able to be linked without a phone call.

okay thanks.
although my mom isn't quite sure when they purchased them.
it could have been any time between 2005 and 2008. she just knows the last time they were used was november 2008 because after that they went with the whole family booking vacation packages in 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012 and have not been back because of my mom needing a knee replacement which she got last november.
i'll try to get my hands on the tickets and see what i can do.

Gotcha. Hope all goes smoothly!

I just got off the phone with them, and the CM said there is absolutely no way to link the tickets before I get to Guest Relations at the park. And as for adding my sister and me to my cousin's previously booked fastpasses, he said it's not Disney World policy to do so, but the CM might choose to let us.

So. Here's hoping we get a lenient CM, because I've planned our days around the fastpasses I got for my cousin!

Any tips for sweet-talking the CM at Guest Relations?? Gaah I'm super shy!

Thanks for your responses. The phone CM I spoke to today said that would work in most cases, but not mine. Thanks again!

I can't speak for all CMs, and I don't work Guest Relations, but crying people make me very uncomfortable and I tend to try and pass them off on someone else. :crazy2:

My advice: If you want GR to do something for you, just be straightforward and polite about it.

Oh gosh I wasn't seriously going to cry!! I agree that the best way is to be polite and calm!

I'm just nervous bc I've kind of put all my eggs in one basket, so to speak. Also, when I was choosing to stay on-site back in March, I didn't realize then we wouldn't be able to book our fastpasses until we got to the park.

BUT we'll still be in Disney World, soooo I will get over it.
