Will be traveling to Magic Kingdom with wife, 3 yr old daughter, and infant son and am planning on using Rider Swap. I believe I am correct that only one person in party will need a FP+ to get a rider switch? 3 year old daughter will be tall enough for 7DMT, BTM, and Splash Mtn.
Currently I have all three of us with FP+ for 7DMT on both days and BTM for one day. Could I set it up where I book one FP+ at 7DMT, BTM, and Splash or Goofy RC and get Rider swap at each? Does the three year old count as one of the ones that can hold a FP+ and get the rider switch?
Thanks

Have a great trip!

The 3 year-old would need to have a FP in conjunction with one adult because the child couldn't ride alone.

So, book child + one adult for FPs and get a swap for two to ride on the swap.
Book FPs for the single adult and get a swap for two to ride on the swap.

It has been reported back that one can reliably book one less FP+ for the baby swapped since the baby swap pass will her you in. If makes sense because even if you booked a FP it could actually expire while the rest of your party is riding. So requiring you to also have it would be silly.

You would still need to have 2 of your 3 people have a FP+ otherwise one of your party will be riding alone at the start. That would not fly with any of my kids. :-)

The good news is that the 3yo gets to ride twice, once on FP and once with the rider swap.

Thanks all. No I don't think we will be putting the 3 yr old by herself (Even though that's a great idea for a prank to pull on my wife when we do Thunder Mountain.) :duck:

I thought at one time I had a single reservation for my daughter at A&E before I could land us all on there. Are you able to book a 3 year old for a single FP+? If so wouldn't it be as simple as mom and daughter switching bands before heading to cast member for rider swap?

You can always try it and see if the FP system allows to book her individually. That means you can swap at 9 different rides! Report back if that works!

No, you cannot book a single fp+ for a 3 year old. They must be at least 7 yrs old.

Thanks just got me thinking. Can only use to split up 7DMT. Have 7DMT, Festival of Fantasy Parade, and Wishes on 1st day and 7DMT, A&E, and Peter Pan on day 2. Enjoyed Wishes FP with daughter as an infant before excited to see the new area.

Last question.

Obtain FP+ for daughter and wife at 7DMT. They ride and then I get to ride with daughter.
Obtain FP+ for me at BTMR. Do I have to ride the first time alone or can daughter ride?

You must ride alone because your DD does not have a FP. She rides on the swap.

I have definitely booked my 3 year old with a single fast pass. I have booked us all together, I don't think it will initially let you book them separately. Then split us up usually to get over lapping fast passes. Have done this for 2 trips now with no problems. Obviously I wouldn't send her on alone, but we have switched cards and used her fast passes occasionally too.

You can BOOK a single FP+ for a 3 yr. old.
But, once at the park, the 3 yr. old cannot actually ride alone.

If your daughter is 3, she must have a fp+ to ride, or ride on the swap.

Odd, I tried last night and got the message I had to add someone 14 or older before selecting.
I didn't try it past that point, so I suppose it will work itself out and allow it after adding another guest.

Our rider switch passes were good until the end of the month for our trips in mid August and early October both. Not sure how they determine the expiration dates.

Rider swap is good for a few days. We got one for 7d on a Monday and didn't use til Friday

If you were the only one with a fastpass for a ride, all three of you go to the fastpass entrance. Ask for the child swap pass then. You ride on your fastpass then your wife can go with the child swap pass after.

ETA: I misread the question...nothing new here.

Some may think this is cheating, but I don't think it is.

Why would anyone consider this cheating? This is how it's supposed to work.
