FP+ and Military Salute tickets

We're going in three weeks and my MIL is planning on buying Salute tickets when we get to the parks on our first day. I'm still trying to wrap my head around all the changes with FP+ for this trip, so I don't want to have an unpleasant surprise upon arrival. Is FP+ for offsite guests the same with Salute tickets as it is with regular tickets?

Should be. The only important distinction between guests for purposes of FP+ is onsite/offsite--type of ticket doesn't matter much at the moment. For all offsites, you take your ticket (of any kind) to a FP+ kiosk when you arrive and make your picks.

Hi, my family use the military tickets last October and we had a hard time setting the FP. First, military tickets can only be purchase at the Bases or at Shades of Green. Then you have to go to the ticket office at the park to activate the tickets-only have to do it once. Sadly, we were never able to set our fast passes using the app. However, at the concierge are of the resort they set them up for us.

We just finished using the Military Salute tickets at MK on Tuesday. We were able to schedule FP+ at one of the kiosks using those tickets without issue.

Last time we went, we bought the Salute tickets at the TTC. Is that not the case anymore?

Every question I've asked for this trip results in half a dozen different answers. After 10 trips to WDW, I've never had so much confusion. :sad2:
Memory Maker, FP+, Salute tickets....

We were told no, so we had to go to Shades of green.

I can get military tickets at my base or at SoG, but I don't think Military Salute tickets are this same kind.

The base/SoG ones are the same ones Disney sells to everyone, just at a slight discount and with no tax. The Salutes are specific to military guests and offered by Disney @ Disney (and perhaps also at bases and SoG). I think this is where the confusion lies. Would love to read CF's take on this.

yes. you just pay taxes on them if you do.(plus they are immediately 'activated')

here at Ft Meade we have to order the vouchers in advance and give them 2-4 weeks notice. they do not carry them on hand. I need to actually find out the polices at Lackland/FSH etc in TX as we are PCSing there just prior to our scheduled trip. it may honestly be less of a hassle to just suck it up and buy at the gate( I am NOT going to stand in that unending line at SoG and then turn around and stand in another line to activate since we are not staying at SoG but at AKL)

yup. the Salute tickets are at a huge discount and are only 4( or is it five?) days each and cannot be upgraded to add additional days although you can add park hopper and WFP&m to them.

we can buy vouchers for these tickers at most ITT offices Nationally but they are not 'real' tickets and do have to be exchanged at a Disney GS location( luckily we can do this downtown as well as the parks)

Chesire does a good job in his sticky explaining them and where to get them/activate them.
