Fp+ and later changes to hotel reservation?

I'm wondering, if I make fp+ selections (staying onsite, so 60 days in advance) but later I change my hotel reservation which was originally booked through wdw (due to a wdw discount that comes up or a cheaper third-party reservation), what would happen to those fp+ selections? Same Disney resort, no change there. Would I lose them and have to start over because they wouldn't be connected with the same resort reservation number? Does that make sense?

You won't lose them. They are based on your ticket entitlements. Your onsite hotel opened the booking window.

Cancel and rebook and as long as your tickets remain linked, you won't lose FPs.

I see! Thank you very much! And if I have three onsite hotels, the first one would open the 60-day window for 10 days (we have 10-day tickets but a 17-day holiday) within a 14-day period?

Yes. You can book for any 10 days of your choosing within that 14 day period.
