I am over the debate, only curious what people experience now in the parks.

Last week FP times were enforced with a light hand in most instances. So many late comers were allowed to use FPs. However, I did not notice any posts that stated whether exceedingly late use was allowed last week (over an hour or more).

So four questions for people ACTUALLY in WDW THIS WEEK (or those who can report 2nd hand) Question 4 is most important to me:

1. Anyone try and get turned down to use a FP an hour or more after the window and how long after?

2. Anyone try and get on the ride with a FP an hour or more after the window and how long after?

3. For either situation can you provide some circumstance/context? i.e. sailed through NQ asked, you explained an acceptable reason, you were warned or you were told sorry but no dice.

4. What changes have you noticed in FP queues/SB queues and wait times. Lines app seems to say FPs are still gone by the typical times of day.

THANKS! :thumbsup2 Planning a trip for 12 days out! Cannot stomach the debate threads anymore even though they begin with good intentions! My clock is tickin and I am just looking for some good ol fashioned DIS help!

I'm sorry but I don't think any topic on DIS should be used to encourage and educate anyone about how to circumvent the new/old policy of returning within the windows stated time. Giving helpful hints on what "lies" to use to help people bypass the policy is just wrong, IMHO!

Judging from the lack of voluntary exposure, I would say that there aren't very many, if any, that are actually getting Disney to back down on their stated policy. I have been on these boards long enough to know that had someone found a way...they would have been bragging about it until the cows came home by now.

The key thing to remember here is that no one is being denied a ride on the attraction. It just says, if you miss your window time...welcome to stand-by.

God, what a horribly insufferable response. It shows a lot about how your mind works. No, not the OP's mind - yours.

The OP asks for information about current experiences, and you respond basically with, "Stop being a liar and a cheater." (Only yours was much more condescending and schoolmarmish.)

People like you absolutely ruin this site for the rest of us.

I don't get the impression that the OP is asking what "lies" can be told. I think the OP is simply asking for people's experiences, which I would also be curious to know.

I will add a follow-up question:

For the people who have first-hand experience in WDW in the last few days, are the CMs consistently allowing the rumored 15-minute grace period before turning people away?

And if they do allow it, is it accompanied by an admonishment to be on time in the future?

(I'd just like to know if we can count on being allowed the grace period, or if it is more of a "maybe" thing.)

I've asked this question elsewhere, but have gotten conflicting responses. Thanks!

My daughter works a busy attraction in Epcot. She said for a few days they were allowed to say, "just this one time, next time come during the stated time." She said yesterday she was told to turn away people beyond the 15 minute grace period and she said she had some who came back at 20 minutes late that she turned away and were not happy.

She said for her attraction today the FP line at times was way longer than she has ever seen it and moving slow. She had people leaving the FP line to move over to the standby line. She realizes this is not how it is suppose to be but due to some miscommunication and not being able to see the end of the lines the person moving people through was not getting FP people through fast enough. She also said she is hearing this from other busy FP attractions.

She also said they added a new position they don't usually have at the end of the FP line but I can't remember what the reasoning was.

There are reasons they are to accept late FPs but I am not sure how they are handling that.

I was at WDW Macrh 6-10 and the only question I could confidently answer is No. 4. We didn't see much of a difference in the waits for FP or SB queues after the change occurred. The waits were pretty consistent with our previous trips.

My daughter does not say anything to those in the 15 minute grace period; they are allowed in within the new policy.

Thanks for not even attempting to understand what I was saying. Insufferable? Pretty harsh don't you think? I don't think that the OP was purposely attempting to find a way around the rule but the mere fact of posting how anyone got them to extend it, if they did, is fodder for someone else to try it, honestly or not.

What ruins a place like WDW for the rest of us are people that incessantly try to find a way to give themselves an advantage over others by whatever means it takes. I suppose it would make good reading but what possible difference does it make what people did or didn't get away with. All any of us have to concentrate on is what the rules are and how to stay within them, not 1001 ways to get around the rules which a thread like this will encourage.

Therefore, I don't think this is the place to be doing this type of thread. A thread that would be helpful to DISers and other visitors alike is how to plan your day working within the system.

I also was not saying that the OP was lying, but my bet is that the majority of those that would post an answer to "how late did they let you go" will provide ideas for those that are more than willing to lie through their collective teeth to get what they want.

Oh, for the love of humanity, lock it! Lock It NOW!!!!

This is ridiculous! Instead of locking down a thread with perfectly acceptable questions and many people who want to know the answers - how about issuing some warnings to those DISers who cannot stay on topic, even when the OP says no debates, just info!!!

Is there not a rule about this? Didn't a mod warn people about staying on topic a few weeks back? I could swear I read that somewhere.

I'm so sick of reading thread after thread of people looking for answers and getting posters butting in with accusations and debates. How about enforcing the "stay on topic" at this point please.

I would love to read more replies to the OP's question.

All but the last line of this post is off the OP's topic too. ;)

Really this topic probably deserves the honor of the one most beaten to death, over and over and over.

OP, coming back late is over, adjust accordingly.

Seriously, not trying to be rude, just really interested in why this has to be discussed again and again.

The rule has changed, it is being enforced. Are their circumstances that the CM will react to. Sure.

But unless that situation actually occurs to a guest no reason for someone else to even know about that special occurrance, unless they plan to recreate it.:confused3

Basically the rule is no late arrivals, "if" something truly comes up, then deal with it then.

True. I'm willing to take one for the team however if it means we can get actual reports without disgruntled people butting in. ;)

Multiple threads have tried this exact same approach with little result. Bottom line there are many more people asking the question than people answering it.

And I am not disgruntled--I'm very gruntled. ;)

Thanks for posting OP - I'm curious to hear responses as well. Anyone with responses?

To me it's like the fact that line cutting is against WDW policy...But oftentimes we hear on these boards that it is not actually enforced. So knowing that it isn't enforced (usually) is good information to have when you go forward. NOT to say I want to cut a line - but, rather the opposite, I want to make sure I'm blocking the whole space around my family because I know it will be ME and not the CM to enforce it.

Also - it has been discussed in other threads that there ARE exceptions that CM's are (or will be?) allowing in for late entry. This is the part that i want to hear about - are they even listening to 'reasons' or turning everyone away? Personally I hope the answer is no because I don't think it should be subjective and up to the particular CM to have the 'power' to allow people in with the biggest sob stories. But it is something I want to know about if that is what ends up happening. Because honestly I don't think that certain individuals should be allowed in unless everyone is going to be.

So I am very curious to know the responses to OP's questions. And I think saying 'you have to use it on time - it's a done discussion' is WAY to simplistic. We ALL KNOW that policies are not enforced across the board. And if that will be the case with this - knowing is important to me at least.

It's not being discussed. Thats the problem. Every time some asks for 1st hand info, it turns into debates and accusations. Just like now.

That's it. No more rant and I'm not saying anything else. You all either understand what I'm stating or you don't.

But please, let people be able to report their experiences - which is what was asked - and debate elsewhere. :worship:
