I wouldn't do the buffet. The quality has gone done significantly in the past years and it's just okay now. For the money, there are plenty of other restaurants that have much better quality and value for the money.
Juniors has good food (it's over in the MGM section), but is a bit pricey for a sandwich. Still good though if you are craving some corned beef or pastrami. The breakfast was real good and of course the cheesecake.
Golden Dragon is really good. The have some interesting menu selections as they do cater to their Asian clientele, so if you are feeling adventurous, there is always something new or unusual to try. The quality is much better then what you are going to get at a take out place back at home.
California Pizza Kitchen, Fuddruckers and Hard Rock Cafe all have decent dependable fare. They are chain restaurants, so if you are looking for something familiar they will fit the bill.
Cedar's Steakhouse has been there forever. Their steaks are aged and very good. Overall, I haven't had a bad thing there, but haven't been in many years.
David Burke's Prime is excellent. Their brunch buffet was really good. Beautiful raw bar, lots of fresh food and a to die for dessert section. I think they do it only on the weekend though. On Monday nights they have a 3 course lobster meal for $29, which is a pretty good price for all that you get.
I really like
Craftsteak by Tom Colicchio. We have eaten here a few times and have not been disappointed. If you have ever wanted to try Wagyu beef, then you can do so here. I really don't know of any other place in CT that sells it. It's not 100% Japanese wagyu, but is a crossbreed. Still really good, and so rich, it just melts in your mouth. If you get it, be careful on apps and sides because it is very filling due to the richness of it.
I also love the fact that they have grass fed beef and label it as such as I prefer it over corn fed.
Shrine is also very good. I don't do sushi, but my DH loves it and says that theirs is fresh and real good. The other non sushi items are also real good. Traditional Japanese and Chinese fare, but done very nicely. This restaurant is also in the MGM casino area right next to the hotel.
I have not been to Foxwoods in months. I wanna go now!!!
