We rented from Fox last year in Miami. Never again. The quote I received saying "this amount will be due at the counter" was wrong. The agent said they had a "mandatory" insurance fee which added over $100 to our weekly rental price. There was no way to decline it. We had taken a shuttle to their (way) off-airport location so we couldn't just hop over to another agency's rental counter. We thought about going back to the airport to rent from someone else, but we had four people, tons of luggage (we were dropping DS off at college) and it was getting late. We relented and paid the fee. While driving away, we noticed the gas tank was almost empty. It was supposed to be full. We had to fill it right then, but obviously weren't going to return it full and pay for twice the amount of gas we used. I tried calling Fox to have them note it on our account. The only number I could find was for an emergency road service. The person who answered said she didn't have access to our account, and there was no way to call anyone at Fox who did. She finally said she could email someone about our tank not being full. Then one of the indicator lights came on, but there was no owner's manual in the car. We had no idea what the light meant, or it if was something potentially serious. My son had to look it up on his phone. We've always been able to find an owner's manual in rental cars. So, Fox is officially off our list.
