Fourth dwarf on the way.............

Well, hopefully this one won't be Grumpy, maybe Sneezy, :D but number four child is on the way! I think maybe the Mother's Day challenge must have meant something different to me. :)

I'm only six weeks along, due November 29, 2004 (just in time to be a tax deduction :p ). I have a loooooonnnnnngggg way to go.

The next six weeks are going to be the most stressful, though. I've miscarried twice before, inbetween each child, so I don't think I'll be taking a deep breath until then. I have to admit, I'm a little scared. I want this baby so badly..........it's almost like the desire to have a baby is stronger this time than even with my first. Does that sound nutty?? Those of you who pray, could you send one up for the baby, oh and me too. Pray that I can be content with whatever God has planned. That is bringing it down to what is important, right??

I'm going to add in some good carbs, ofcourse. Sweet potatoes, acorn squash, corn, fruit, etc..... but no processed white flour or sugar for this baby. No baby needs bad carbs!!

I've also had problems with being borderline gest. diabetes in my pregnancies, so keeping the carbs at 60-80 a day should help with that. My last child was 9lb. 4 oz., so I hope keeping the carbs in check will help that also. Ofcourse all of this will be with doctor's approval. But I don't think any doctor would have a problem with no processed foods.

I will not be TRYING to lose weight but I usually do with every pregnancy. I think because I watch what I put in my mouth during this time, and I'm still severely overweight, I don't know how I'm going to NOT lose some weight. I always joke that I should be pregnant all of the time, then I might be thin.  Why does it take pregnancy to make me serious with my health??

If I do lose anything, how should I work it on the WISH? Should I just take what my doctor weighs me in at every month?? Ofcourse, there will be a twenty pound whooooosh at the end :p . What do you think??

I'm still going to post to my journal. I think this will help me keep things in check. I don't want to fall off the deep end. And I'm still going to be around WISH on a daily basis. No reason to stop encouraging others, right??:teeth:

Sorry to be so long.......................everyone have a good day.

OOH!! Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Prayers for you and your little one are on the way! Eating healthy and staying on track is going to be very beneficial for you and your baby. Just don't deprive yourself of anything!

((HUGS)) to you and congrats again!!!

Congratulations Pamela. Prayers, good wishes, and PD are on the way!

Congratulations!!!!!! How exciting for you! :Pinkbounc :bounce: I will definitely include you and the baby in my prayers. ::yes::
Okay, so weight loss won't be your focus, but definitely staying OP will be good for you and baby. If doctor okays it, exercise is great for easing delivery. You can still have goals of no cheating and exercising, right?! Definitely keep an eye on the gestational diabetes. My DD was born with low blood sugar and spent 4 days in NICU. :( Oh, and my babies weights were 10.9 and 9.3!:earseek:
Best wishes for you and your family!::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

oh pam, that is so wonderful!!! i'm so happy for you!!! congratulations! :bounce:

SUCH WONDERFUL NEWS - think only positive thoughts!
I will pray for a healthy pregnancy and baby!

Again CONGRATS!!
Sue

Thanks for all of the positive thoughts and for your prayers.

And Sharon, THAT'S exactly how I look at it. My focus isn't losing weight, only on eating healthy, not cheating, and exercising. I want a healthy baby, not one with sugar problems. And what happened to you just happened to a friend of mine. She is pretty overweight too. I don't think she gained anything with her pregnancy, but she was borderline diabetes and her baby was 10-3 and born with low blood sugar. That was a good reminder to me that I really need to watch it this time. My second was 8-1 and then my third was 9-4!! And I only gained 8 pounds!! But I didn't watch my carbs, just my overall intake. Consequently, I think I was eating some junk carbs and not filling up on the good stuff. Don't want that again.

Thanks everyone. :sunny:

Congratulations again Pam!!! Can you tell I'm sooooo very excited for you. I added you and the baby to my daily prayers. I'm glad to hear you plan on sticking around, I didn't want to loose my WISH buddy and friend! And after the baby is born we'll all be here to help you with that onward and downward goal!!!! I think it sounds like a great idea to keep journaling, like you said it might help to keep you more in check.

Take care

Congrats!!!! I am so happy for you. I am hoping to start on baby number two as soon as I lose 15 more pounds. Eating healthy durning pregnancy helps so much to keep those added pounds away. I did really well during the first half of my pregnancy and then the cravings for donuts & chocolate shakes kicked in. Good luck with your plan. Make sure you check with your doctor about your carb intake. You may need more for energy while you are carrying that bundle of joy, but like you said no reason to eat the bad carbs. Also I did a little pregnancy yoga when I was pregnant and it really made me feel relaxed and it helped with delivery. I don't do regular yoga because I'm not real flexible, but the pregnancy yoga was easier. Congrats again!

I need to thank her for putting me with the best WISH buddie EVER!!!

I don't know how she does it, putting people together, knowing just who would be good with who.......but she really did it for me.

Cheryl, you are the best! You give me such encouragement, you're fantastic. Thanks again, Jiminy!

And I just thought of something. My user name is going to be outdated. But I don't think I can change it without the other info changing, right?? Oh, well. Are any of you the fourth child in your family?? Did you ever feel like the forgotten child? :p Oh, no. I can see this one's going to have a complex already......"mommy doesn't want to change her user name to include me." :teeth: :jester:

Congratulations! I will pray for you and your little one. I'm so happy for you. :)

Oh, I'm so happy for you and you all will be in prayers that things will go fine. Congratulations and keep us updated on how things are going.

Pam, warm congratulations!!!! How exciting for you!!

I believe someone over on the DIS Tech Board can answer your question about a change to your username! ;) We wouldn't want the newest little dwarf to feel left out!

I have no idea about what to do with your clippies, weight goals, etc. but the whoosh at the end will be much deserved after nine months of exercise carrying the little bundle of joy around! :p

I will certainly keep you and your precious little one in my prayers! :sunny:

What wonderful news!! Congratulations and I will certainly add you and baby to my prayers!!!

By the way, no Sneezy or Grumpy for you!! This baby will definitely be........... Happy!! That sure describes the way we all feel at your good news!! :D :D

Congratulations, Pamela. A new DISling in our future, so very exciting!

I always wanted more than one child but I was blessed only with my son, Travis and then more miscarriages than any woman should ever have to endure. I understand how you are feeling right now.

Saying a prayer that your pregnancy is easy and healthy and that we will be welcoming that healthy new DISling in November.

Congratulations, prayers and pixie dust heading your way for a healthy pregnancy!!

I just wanted to send along my best wishes. I am very happy for you. I hope that all goes well. My only advice is to try to keep your stress level down. I know that can't be easy since you've already experienced some unsuccessful pregnancies, but hang in there. I will be adding you and your baby to my prayers.

With God's Blessings, Renee
