Day 3- Magic Kingdom

If you read part II of this report, you know my nephew was suffering from a case of heat rash & walking in the hot Florida sun all day was a problem. We had gotten him the appropriate medicine & were hoping that would help.

From CR, we walked to MK. From the far end of the south wing to MK was at least 15 minutes. The kids were difficult to get up all week, so we were a little late arriving at MK. There was already a considerable line waiting to enter. I really like to arrive early, but it just didn't work with our current cast of characters. Oh well, no big deal. Me, DD, & nephew headed to Space Mt. while the rest went to Buzz. SM was already at 20 minutes, so we got a fastpass & met the others at Buzz. They had already ridden once, so we all rode again. We were able to do Pooh, Peter Pan, Splash, & Big Thunder. We got in line for Pirates & after 10 minutes, it broke down. So we did some shopping & then headed to Epcot for a PS at Coral Reef.

It was starting to rain, so we got a little wet walking from the monorail to Coral Reef. We had never been here, but I wanted to try it so we could watch the fish as we ate. It's really a nice restaurant with good food & good service. The problem we had was my nephew refused to order off the kids menu. Remember the incident with the life jacket? He's a VERY picky eater & I knew he wouldn't like anything on the regular menu. But he was determined to be 12 & not 11, so he & I shared the salmon sandwich. All he did was pick at it! I knew it, but you couldn't tell him! Everyone else loved their food & the atmosphere. This is not a place for picky eaters, though.

After lunch, we headed back for the monorail & just as we got underneath Spaceship Earth, the heavens opened up, big time! So we waited...& waited...& waited. Finally, we just ran for the monorail. We made it back to the CR finally. The rain had stopped, so DW, DD, & niece went swimming. Nephew & I took a nap.

Around 5pm, we were talking about going back to MK for the evening activities. Our rash problem had flared up again, & the thought of walking to & around MK didn't sound promising. So DW & I made the executive decision to stay in that night. It wasn't a big deal because I had scheduled another morning & evening at MK later in the week.

DW & I decided to get everyone a sandwich & drink from the Food & Fun Center & at the same time try to do a load of laundry. That worked out well-the laundry room wasn't busy. A evening of rest was good for us all.

Three rashes & a knot on the head still to come!

Tell your brother, (I know, here I go again) to get the boy some Bodyglide for the rash/chaffing thing. It happens to me too and I used the Bodyglide on my trip 3 weeks ago and it worked great. It looks like a stick of deoderant and goes on like that too. I found it for $7 at a local running shop.
