Pikester, that was the PERFECT smilie!

Fortunately, the day did get better. I went and gave Mom a shower and she was so happy. Then we went to my cousin Mark's award dinner. He was chosen Police Officer of the Year. We are SO proud of him! The dinner was great--yummy bread, salad, and the best pasta I ever remember eating! When the main course came (chicken), I took 1 bite, didnt like it, and was just fine. Glad I ate all that pasta! It was a really nice event, and it was great to see my cousins and my uncle.

My dad gave me the nicest compliment! I was sitting next to my cousin Jen, who is 10 years younger than I am, and has always been thin and very pretty. Daddy was sitting across from me. He tapped me on the arm and said, "You look really nice tonite." I almost fell out of my chair! He is not one for compliments. THEN he said, "you look like you could be Jen's sister."!!!!!!!!! I was stunned! I do believe that was the nicest thing he ever said to me! This is the guy who, the night of my Senior Prom, when I came down in my dress and said, "Daddy, how do I look?", replied, "Fat." OK, I WAS fat, but that was SOOOOO not the answer I was looking for.

Needless to say, we have a MUCH better relationship these days than when I was younger. And since Mom's surgery, we have gotten really close, and even talk on the phone at least once every day! I am really loving it.

So, I will be going to bed with a smile on my face after all.

I heard a pastor on the radio today talking about how we need real people in our lives, and all the things "real" friends do for us. He said "you cant get that on a computer." Well, obviously he never met the TKers, becuase he is sooooo wrong! Thanks all of you for your support. I dont know what I'd do without my TK friends!!:hug:

Glad your day got better. It is nice that we can come here and complain and then rejoice when things look up. I just had to highlight that part of your post!

Wendy, so glad you had a nice night. All I have to say is

TKERS' ROCK!!!

You guys really have gotten me through some really hard times.

Hey Racer---I made my picks this week. Went back to basics. I tried to pick different ones last week and it didn't work. I'm almost last. I know just how Jr feels. I really have no desire to spend the money to go to Dover. They probably have good seats available. I saw lots empty at Lowes. I haven't even bothered to check Jayski to see what was written about the meeting.

Hey TKers. I vote we all try and have a good day tomorrow. pixiedust:

DH brought up about heading to Dover (of course, he'll be out of town then) but it's just too darn expensive. The last time we went, it was $80 a ticket. That was to sit further up in the stands. I really don't want to sit too close to the track. All the track dirt getting in your eyes really stinks. Of course, Pocono in the week after and tickets are cheaper there but you can't see anything but the front stretch.

I didn't make my picks yet. Have to do it last minute, of course. :lmao: I'll probably email you my picks for Michigan.

I don't know what is up with Jr but each week seems worse and worse. They really need to do something to turn things around and at this point, it might have to be something drastic.

Excuse the wishful thinking!

Just wanted to say good morning to all my friends...some haven't checked in lately though.

They are digging holes in front of my house. I saw the marks on the street but no word of when they were doing it or if my water would be affected. I would really have trouble backing out of the driveway...I guess Patrick could go over the grass and curb. Thankfully I do not need to get anywhere today. Tomorrow I will have gone by the time they start.

Have a good one...

Hi all:

Sorry I've been MIA, just don't seem to have much free time lately...not sure what's keeping me so busy though.

I finally got caught up on about 7 pages...looks like a few of you need

There's just too much to comment on so I'll just say :wave2: to everyone.

We ARE REAL. Just live too far away from each other to get together in person. Heck, the TKers have been nicer to me than some of my "real" friends and family. Thank God for computer pals.

:lmao:Every time you mention the name of your car, I have to stop and think for a minute. Then I giggle.

Hi everyone!
whgrn sorry your day started out so badly. At least it got better.

It's a good thing my landscaping consists of rocks. You can't tell when someone digs up your yard. At least we seem to have water pressure. I also found out about screens in the water intake of the washing machine. Having a well can be a PITA sometimes.

So M&N, what finally happened? Did Patrick have to go offroading???

I had a GOOD day today. Finally! Got up and made lemon bars for Bible Study. They were sooooooo yummy! Bible Study was great, and after that I went to WalMart to pick up a few things and support the local and Chinese economies. I got 2 tank tops--size MEDIUM!!:cool1: Also found some dress socks to wear in Scotland this summer, it is really hard to find socks that I like that fit right, and these are perfect. Also got new bath rugs for my bathroom--the old ones were getting pretty gross.

Sunscreen was on sale so I stocked up for the kids for camp. And I got a new shaving set for DD. Mom just got the same one and it is awesome, so I got it. DD is terrible about shaving, and the "fiorests" were getting pretty thick! Not any more. I took care of that as soon as we got home! I went to Payless and got a pair of white Keds type sneakers. Do you have any idea how hard it is to find those nowadays? I used to get them at WalMart, Target, even the grocery store. Not anymore. *sigh* At least I have them now.

Sandwiches for dinner cause Momma didnt want to cook. Now the kids have their Bible Study (conveniently located in our playroom!) and I get to relax!!

So nice to have a good day for a change.

Patrick stayed in the garage. They then parked a panel truck in front of my house so I couldn't do the grass trip. I guess if I needed to get out they would have had to move it. I could have gone before the 2nd hole opened this am but really didn't need to. I guess they are finished with those and will move along a little more. It's still in front of my house though. I leave for breakfast at 6:10 so they won't be out then. I'm putting my stuff for Mom's in Patrick tonight. I'll be home some tomorrow but in case I cannot get down the street, I'll be ok.

It's raining...

I must go and check up on my fav NASCAR driver. Mom heard that his crew chief (his cousin) was fired!

Good evening ladies!

What a boring TV night it is. My DH has control of the remote right now so there may be something half way decent on but he is not watching it!

So very happy that tomorrow is Friday! We've had rain for two days so the kids at school haven't been able to have recess. I am so ready for the weekend. Sukie and I are going shopping and have lunch planned for Ruby Tuesday; atleast I hope. Looking forward to a Ruby Relaxer. YUM!

So glad to hear that you had a better day today Wendy. Your lemon bars sound yummy!

Hey BKMETV! It has been a long time.

Our poor gym teacher is trying to get in field days for the kids. There aren't but so many days left. I just heard rain on my roof.

Looks like nothing much is happening anywhere except on the J&K8 thread. That place is really hopping!

Ruby Tuesday...I have no lunch plans...Meet you there!

Guess I'll see about the basketball game...the Magic is doing good.

Evening!!! I spent the entire day running around trying to get last minute stuff done for vacation. DH was home for the day so I made sure we got everything done. We only have to give the dog a bath before she goes to my brothers house and pick up some drinks and breakfast stuff for the trip. I only have to pack DH's stuff and some odds and ends for the rest of us. Woohoo!!!! I can't believe we leave in 8 days.

Wendy, I'm so glad you had a good day. You really deserve it. I remember buying those plain white keds everywhere too. I prefer to wear black sneakers though. When I wear white ones, my feet look huge. :lmao:

M&N, yep, Tony Jr is gone. But from what I read on Jayski, his replacement sounds really good. I hope he can turn things around for Jr. If he can't, maybe Hendrick isn't the right place for Jr.

PIkester, I can't wait for school to end. Need to catch up on all the sleep I lose during the year. I'm worse than the kids. :rotfl: I hear you about the tv. I don't know what to watch on Thursdays anymore since Survivor and Hell's Kitchen ended.

Ev, yo stranger!!!! How are you doing? When does school end for your kids?

Hey Racer...why are you blaming loosing sleep on school? You're on here until 12...that's not school's fault! :rotfl:

I think the pressure is really on Jr now. I do think the new guy sounds like he has winning experience.

Good evening everyone!
Hey M&N you watch J+K+* to? I love that show. I feel bad for everything they are going through right now, true they probably did bring allot of it on themselves but I still feel bad for them. Did you watch the season premiere? What did you think of it?

Hey, it's the school's fault that I have to get up early. If school started at 11am, I'd be good. :rotfl2:

OH yeah, Jr has to be feeling the pressure. When he went to Hendrick, wasn't all the talk about how he was doing it to win the championship? I didn't expect him to win it last year but he's getting worse instead of better.

It took a min for the reply page to appear!

Anyway, I did see the premier. I feel bad for the kids...having those photographers watching their every move. I'm sure fault could be found on both sides. I never really liked Kate. I really didn't like it when one of them thanked her for the party and she turned to the camera and said something like how wonderful that was to be thanked. It's just always about her and how great she is. She had to do all the preparing etc...well, I just bet you some of those TLC people helped put those things up! It was sad too when one of the girls said how she missed Daddy. I think Kate said something about it probably being the last family photo...wouldn't you try and make it for those kids? Shouldn't they get counseling? Wouldn't their church be helping them?

Hi everyone!

I logged on to the DIS just to say hello. I was thinking about everyone today and how much I miss the DIS and the TK'rs. I am not sure how often I will be on over the next couple of weeks.

WOW! How about that lady in PA? And we thought WE had a problem with Disney addiction. :rotfl:

Well, Kyle won Dover last May...I guess that's why I don't want to go. ;) My friends are going. Her hubby's friend had a ticket...it's usually just the guys. She's a Jimmie fan but not that thrilled about going either.

I read that the meeting was just 2 hrs...how could they solve anything in just 2 hrs?
