Pikester, that was the PERFECT smilie!
Fortunately, the day did get better. I went and gave Mom a shower and she was so happy. Then we went to my cousin Mark's award dinner. He was chosen Police Officer of the Year. We are SO proud of him! The dinner was great--yummy bread, salad, and the best pasta I ever remember eating! When the main course came (chicken), I took 1 bite, didnt like it, and was just fine. Glad I ate all that pasta! It was a really nice event, and it was great to see my cousins and my uncle.
My dad gave me the nicest compliment! I was sitting next to my cousin Jen, who is 10 years younger than I am, and has always been thin and very pretty. Daddy was sitting across from me. He tapped me on the arm and said, "You look really nice tonite." I almost fell out of my chair! He is not one for compliments. THEN he said, "you look like you could be Jen's sister."!!!!!!!!! I was stunned! I do believe that was the nicest thing he ever said to me! This is the guy who, the night of my Senior Prom, when I came down in my dress and said, "Daddy, how do I look?", replied, "Fat." OK, I WAS fat, but that was SOOOOO not the answer I was looking for.
Needless to say, we have a MUCH better relationship these days than when I was younger. And since Mom's surgery, we have gotten really close, and even talk on the phone at least once every day! I am really loving it.
So, I will be going to bed with a smile on my face after all.
I heard a pastor on the radio today talking about how we need real people in our lives, and all the things "real" friends do for us. He said "you cant get that on a computer." Well, obviously he never met the TKers, becuase he is sooooo wrong! Thanks all of you for your support. I dont know what I'd do without my TK friends!!

I really have no desire to spend the money to go to Dover. They probably have good seats available. I saw lots empty at Lowes. I haven't even bothered to check Jayski to see what was written about the meeting.
I'll probably email you my picks for Michigan.
to everyone.
Also found some dress socks to wear in Scotland this summer, it is really hard to find socks that I like that fit right, and these are perfect. Also got new bath rugs for my bathroom--the old ones were getting pretty gross.
I am so ready for the weekend. Sukie and I are going shopping and have lunch planned for Ruby Tuesday; atleast I hope. Looking forward to a Ruby Relaxer. YUM!
I hear you about the tv. I don't know what to watch on Thursdays anymore since Survivor and Hell's Kitchen ended.
My friends are going. Her hubby's friend had a ticket...it's usually just the guys. She's a Jimmie fan but not that thrilled about going either.
