Hey all. Just popping in real quick. Watching the second to last ER :sad1:
I only stayed at POP one night and we checked in after 10 and were gone the next morning, so I honestly have no clue what building we stayed in.

I missed ER tonight. DH has been flipping the channels like crazy and keep forgetting to turn it back on. Or so he says. Was it any good? Who showed up, if anybody?

Hey Race, no former cast members today, looks like almost everybody is supposed to show up next week. Which I heard is supposed to be a 3 hour finale. The baby that Angela Bassett wants to adopt--the mother showed up and wanted it back, but after awhile she changed her mind and they started talking about an open adoption. Dr.Brenners patient with the heart transplant (and the little daughter) showed up, she is rejecting the heart. Morris proposed to the cop, and all the doctors helped out at a camp for kids that have had open heart surgeries. Even though it had little to do with the show ending it was a good show.

I'll have to look for it online. Sounds like it was good even though "nobody showed up". Is Dr. Greene suppose to be on next week? I so want to see him again.

Ohh Dr. Greene I don't know they didn't show him but at the end they said all of your favorites from the last 15 years, so hopefully!

Ok, I'll hope too. Maybe I'll go off and search the net for info. Someone has to know. It will bring back wonderful memories.

Off to bed. School comes early.

Night!!!!!!!!!!!

Just a quick pop-in... not even caught up from the last time I was here! :rotfl:
Hi Lighttech!

Been thinking of you lately. Isn't your son's b-day coming up? Mine is this weekend and I am busy trying to put together a Lego party and cake. Are you doing any volcanos this year? :)
Yes, it is... Not until May though, so I've got some time. No volcanoes this year, from Marie's post, I thought you were doing one! (I did one last year.) This year, DS wants a pirate party, so I'm debating btw a pirate ship cake or a treasure chest cake. Happy Bday to your son, and good luck w/ the plans. What are you thinking for the Lego cake?

Has anyone seen this thread yet? http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2126884
Free Hershey Park tix w/ Pepsi products purchase.

Mostly quoted this so I remember to go check it out later.

Hey everybody!

So it turns out my sinus infection (or cellulitis whatever lol) was worse than we thought. I have been in SO MUCH PAIN!!! It is finally starting to go away. Stragely that was the only symptom though, face pain and swelling. Not fun.

Wow D&D! Looks like I need to spend more time on the budget board. Wish they would give an offer like that in VA. I guess they figure we are too far away. bummer.

Racerchickey- Did you post a pic of that hair yet?

Magikitty- What is a chipwitch again? Oh my, I must need a disney fix. ha ha ha

Hi to everyone!!!!!
Hope you are feeling better!

Racetrack - Don't add me to that siggie yet... I'm still trying to hang in here. :rotfl2: I've heard the rough winter thing all over the place... I know its not just my family. Tip for those w/ kids over 1yr, but not old enough for cold medicine... I'd read that a little honey before bed was great for coughs, but hadn't tried it yet. A TBSp before bed for DS is working quite well! Plus he thinks its a major treat. :yay: (knock wood)

Magikitty - Mmmmm... chipwich. If you've got Blue Bunny icecream in your stores, try theirs. They are delicious. (Although, I wouldn't want BF to find a replacement for Disney's. He might not be as easily swayed to go. :rolleyes1)

Everybody else - Gotta run, but thanks for the memories!
"Talk" to you all soon."

Oh - Have I missed any updates on the potential PA meet-n-greet? I'm a PA-er, so I want to make sure I'm in the loop!

Well the cold weather is back. 32 this morning with snow on the hills. I feel sorry for the plants who thought it was spring. :sad2:

We haven't stayed at the Pop yet, only value was the All Stars Music.

Lighttech My mom used to give us a honey lemon mixture for our coughs. I should ask my mom how to make it since I hate regular cough syrup.

Night Pikester!!! Catch ya later.

D&D, How are things going with DS? We've had some pretty good bumps in the road with mine. I sometimes think that he only expects negative attention and that's part of the reason he acts out.

You're right! I think all they want or know is negative attention. He's like a junkie in the sense that he will push your buttons sooooo much until you just snap and yell. Then, its like he has his "fix" and will leave you alone.
Things have been better in the last week - since his b-day is coming up. However, he goes through these cycles where he's really bad then really good, then just okay. :headache: So frustrating.

DL55 - Wow... its 32 there???? I thought you were one of the lucky ones with warm weather.

Still expecting a big snow storm here Sat. night. Could be 6-9 inches. YUCK!!!! Our party is in the afternoon so hopefully everyone will be safely home before it starts.
Right now the sun is shining and its around 40. Told the kids to ride their bikes to school today since who knows when they'll get to do it again. :sad2:

Okay here are pics of my son's Lego cake. Let me know what you think. This is my first time using fondant so I am not real good at it. That stuff is hard to work with. It rips very easy and doesn't mend well.

What a great looking cake! :cloud9: Gee, when my mom made our birthday cake it was a round 2 layer cake with frosting...no fancy cakes for us. :lmao:

Good afternoon ladies!

Rainy looking this morning here. DH is home today (thankfully still sleeping) not due to the threat of rain but because he hurt his back somehow. Most likely he will be heading to the chiropractor today. I have always had back problems and he never seemed to understand. Now he does. Man, has he been a grouch! At first I thought he was getting tired of me, DS and DD bringing up WDW but now it's become apparent that it's because he doesn't feel good.

No big plans today. I got a subscription to Tourguidemike.com this morning and now my head hurts! Too much input! Does look like some good stuff to add to the ever growing information list I have been compiling. Anybody ever use him?

MagiKitty, I am with you! I will keep looking for a better rental car rate right up until the morning before we leave! I am pretty sure I won't change companies though. That way if anything goes wrong I can blame it on DH! :lmao:
Lucky you getting to take advantage of the free dining promo! We won't get to but we will still be roly-polying right along with you. I've been spending so much time reading menus and trying to decide where to eat that I sometimes feel like the whole vacation is about food!
Apparently you are experienced driving with a rental car at WDW. Is it hard to get around? Does it take forever to get where you're going? Even at it's worst, I can't imagine it being any worse than having to rely on Disney transportation to get you where you want to go. I can't imagine my bunch having the patience to do that.
My son fixed me up with Firefox too. I have to say I like it much better than IE and I certainly don't crash anywhere as often as I used to. Our problem is not from Firefox but rather from our provider. It goes through a series of time outs every few days, I guess when they are upgrading or performing maintenance or during bad weather which ALWAYS seems to happen right in the middle of doing something important.

racetrack18kb & DL55, you have my sympathies too for having DHs who would dare to wait until the last minute to plan and to throw monkey wrenches into your plans! I would go absolutely nuts! I think I have learned my lesson and will not even ask mine for any of his opinions anymore.

D&DDisney, oh yeah! You hit the nail on the head! DH has quite the ego. Then again most men do, don't they?
My hair is doing the same thing too. Thank heavens for hair color! Getting old stinks sometimes, like when you start getting gray hair, but I know that for myself I would not want to go back to my younger years. I did so many stupid things!
I hope the bad weather holds off until after the big birthday bash! I LOVE your Lego cake! You did a great job! I'm more like DL55's mom...2 layer, round. OMG! That sounds so funny after I wrote it! I meant that I make cakes like DL55's mom but come to think of it... I am kinda round and layery! :rotfl2: When I was a kid I didn't get a real cake. :sad1: If we got a snowball cupcake we thought we were doing good. No wonder I am so traumatized!

pepperw23, do they know what caused your cellulitis? Is it something likely to reoccur? I hope not. So glad you are feeling better. I know what you mean about how you would rather be stuck with a bunch of strangers vs. family!

Pikester, :woohoo: It is so much fun to get the dates pinned down as well as some of the other stuff finalized! Isn't it great when the kids are excited too? Mine seem to be taking more of an interest than they have in some of our past trips so I guess something new will be good.Maybe we will see you there!

lighttech, my grandmother used to keep a bottle of honey and whiskey brewed up for coughs! Not so good for the wee ones but I do remember taking some when I was a kid. Probably reeeally good in an adult dose! :rotfl:

Love the cake, it is too cute.
I'll have to try and get a pic of my wedding cake on here someday. Will have to convert it to digital first, I got married back in the film days!! :scared1::laughing:
My mother in law makes cakes as a side job, although she says ours was a once in a lifetime cake!!

Cake looks great D&D! Got any ideas for a Bakugan cake? DS7 (soon-to-be 8) wants a Bakugan party. I figure the easiest thing to do would be to make a cake, either sheet or round and stick a few newly purchased Bakugans on top.

I just have to share that my DH was looking out the window and saw that my DS7 and some other neighborhood kids were playing with something. He stuck his head out the door and asked DS7 what he had in his hand. DS just looked guilty so DH said to bring it here. It was a Freakin BAT! DH didn't want me to freak but he said that when he first looked out the Bat was hang unside down from DS7's finger! Thank God the thing didn't bite him. I asked over and over again if it had but DS7 just keeps saying it didn't. I assume it would have hurt so he would know whether it did or not. DH put it somewhere warm and where the kids wouldn't find it. Poor thing.

Tomorrow is going to be beautiful here in NH. I plan on spending it at the Mall shopping! LOL Going with Sukie to do some Spring/Easter/Bored with what I have for clothes shopping. We plan on eating out at Ruby Tuesdays. Love it!

Wow! Very quiet around here.

Is it safe in here? I started a new thread a few days ago to get some answers about WDW. I originally posted it on the DL forum because I specifically wanted some opinions from folks who have been to both parks. I've spent a lot of time on that part of the forum and know lots of people and feel really comfortable there. Well, everything was going great BUT since my questions were about WDW they moved my thread. It went from me asking a few questions to them trying to convince me why I really have to stay onsite... and I never even asked about lodging. I started out just looking for a few ideas and ended up having to defend my decisions. Yesterday I got told to GET A GRIP! :scared1: On my own thread! They were joking but good grief IT's SCARY OUT THERE! Anyway, I requested that the mod move it back. She said she would talk to the others and get back with me.

On the other hand, you guys have been great answering my questions... and haven't even raked me over the coals....yet. :rotfl: Thanks for being gentle with me.

Pikester I let my DD bring in little critters like frogs, lizards, grasshoppers, etc in her bug barn. She loves watching them. Heck, I even nabbed a baby garter snake for her one day while I was working in my garden. (to which the big brave men had a fit) BUT I would definitely drawn the line on a bat! Kids just don't know fear!

Speaking of creepy crawly things... my DS has been the unsuspecting victim on several occasions of frogs popping out at him when he least expects it. He laughs about it and we tease him mercilessly about his frog phobia all the time. Yesterday we were sitting at our computers when all of the sudden out of the corner of my eye I see him jump sideways out of his chair. His eyes were about the size of quarters and I think he was possibly sucking in a deep sigh of relief at having escaped the clutches of a vicious beast, all the while muttering a few expletives that he should not be using in front of his mother. I glance at his desk. There sits a little fuzzy black hopping spider that has decided to slide down his web right in front of DS's face and take up residence upon his keyboard. Being the brave and loyal mother that I am.. I sweep in and slay the beast and save my DS from certain harm. Now, I know if I was an even better mother I would NOT be laughing at the expense of my son but I just couldn't help myself! Believe me, he would spare me no ridicule. Isn't it amazing how a little bug can scare the bejeebers out of even the toughest guys around? I know, I know, what goes around comes around. My turn will come.

Can you believe that we had a freeze again last night here in Texas? DH and I were out in the cold last night wrapping up his precious fig tree. So funny because I was the one that even decided to plant the thing but it is now "his fig tree". Anyway, it is the one thing in the entire yard that we bothered with. Gosh it was cold!

I have to tell you, reading that brought tears to my eyes. That is exactly it. I could never explain it to other people so that they would understand exactly what we go through. But that is exactly how it is with DS. Even though DS has greatly improved, he will still do those stupid little things that he knows will get him into trouble. It's like a never ending cycle. And though you try not to snap the first, second, third, etc time, it eventually happens. Then they feel better and it starts all over again.

That is so awesome!!! I don't bake at all. I know how, I just don't do it. I've passed that chore, and it's a chore to me, on to DD13. She loves it and this year for DD5's birthday, she is going to attempt to make a mad hatter cake. You know, the kind that is all crooked and leaning over. I'll have to post pics when she makes it.

Pikester, that is scary about DS. I agree, if it had bitten him, he would have showed some sign of being in pain. Just keep on eye on it for a couple of days, I'm sure he'll be fine. What did you buy while shopping?

lighttech, ok, the meet is going to be at Hershey. The dates haven't been set in stone as far as I know. I "think" we are looking at mid-June to mid-July. D&DDisney and whgrn need to find compatible dates. Once something is more definite, I'll email you if you want.

marie, let me be the first to welcome :welcome: you to the world of Disboards, the "friendliest" community on the internet. :rolleyes1:rotfl2: I don't venture out there too often anymore. Don't you know by now that the only right opinions and choices are everyone else's?

My 2 oldest DDs are petrified of anything creepy crawly. I'm talking screaming and standing on furniture. Heck, I'm not much better. But my youngest DD loves all that kind of stuff. Her favorite spring activity.....digging for worms. You know how most little kids will pick dandelions for their moms? It's so cute and all that because you know they tried to do something really sweet. What does DD5 bring me last year? The discarded shell from a locust. :lmao: :rotfl2: Yeah, she is a little strange. :lmao:
