Four-mer TKers...4 one, 4 all, 4 ever

I just gotta share my news! We finally decided on our dates for WDW, December 2-16. :woohoo: I've been watching airfare bounce up and down for the past few weeks. This week I lucked out and purchased out tickets for HALF PRICE of what they have been up to just by flying out on Wednesday instead of on the weekend! So.... since i saved so much on our flight I went ahead and booked the house I had found that everyone fell in love with. See.... we are on the calendar! What do you think of our house? It's even named after us!

I am so glad to have this part done. Now I just need to book a rental car and a little later get our tickets. In the meantime, I can get started planning all the fun stuff! Yippee! Even DS-18 is excited! We sat down together yesterday and toured the rides online. He is in awe of how huge WDW is and all the stuff we will have to do. DD-8 is just impressed that we are going to have our own private pool! So.... now I need all the WDW tips you experts have to offer! And also, here are a few really important questions I came up with....tell me... do they have churros, fruit and yogurt parfaits and chocolate covered strawberries in WDW like they do in DL? Where do I find them?

Hey there! Glad you checked in.

We will be at WDW at the same time! Our dates are Nov. 29th--Dec. 6th.

You can get Churros at Epcot in Mexico(Cantina de San Angel). That is according to Passporter:Walt Disney World. I'm not sure about the other stuff. I guess I'll have to look into it because it all sounds good!

How about that...a certain song comes to mind..... :rolleyes1 It's a small world after all...It's a small world after all...It's a small world after all.... We started to leave on the 29th but the female friend of my DS said it would be easier for her to meet up with us if we could wait until December. So we did.

My DH will be glad to know he can get his churro fix somewhere. At DL he lives on churros! The other goodies are just some of our favorites. We will be okay without them but will sure miss them. Of course, I am pretty sure we will be able to find some new treats to give a try. Anyone have any favorites?

I'm going to have to check into getting a Passporter. Are they as good as they sound?

I changed my avatar. :goodvibes
Almost didn't recognize ya! :lmao:

Wow D&D, didn't realize about the RAD. That's the worst. I know quite a few people whose kids have it and it is no picnic. Many have had to be instituionalized, sent away to special programs, etc. My DS definitely has attachment disorder, but not full-blown RAD, thank God. I think his subconscious mindset is just "I am a horrible, awful person, and eventually they will find out and get rid of me, so I'll just be really bad and they'll send me away now." He truly doesn't get what a great kid he is, when he isn't letting all the issues get in the way. I dont' drink at all, but I do take 2 different antidepressants every day!:lmao:
Haven't resorted to the antidepressants - YET. My neighbor did. She adopted 2 children from the Ukraine at the same time we adopted DS10 and we've spent many a night comisserating about our kids. Both of hers have RAD. Having a child w/ RAD is worse than anything I could ever have imagined. :guilty: Thanks for letting me rant on for a while. Very theraputic.

Marie - :scared1: Your dates at Disney may just miss mine. :sad1: We were hoping to go back for our b-days but probably won't arrive until Dec 16th. I haven't made any plans yet cause I am waiting for some big discounts, codes, etc. But I WILL NOT miss someone by a day like I did w/ Ev last year.
May have to arrive on the 15th or make a trip down to TX.

Aaaw, D&DDisney. That's so sweet that you would consider changing your dates around your fellow TKers! I have to tell you that you can't probably depend on me though. I probably will not know if I am coming or going! Plus, I can already tell that DS is thinking about taking over my vacation! Imagine him thinking we might possibly spend some of our time outside of the park! No, really, we will be there 14 days but will buy 10 day park tickets. That leaves a few days but I don't know which ones or what we will be doing when. DH has said he would like to SEE the ocean. And there is some sort of Titanic exhibit I found that DS and I would probably enjoy. Plus I saw a Mystery Dinner Show that the family would probably enjoy. And the Wonderworks thing looks like it would entertain the kids and maybe the spare teens. Maybe the Holy Lands Experience or Fantasy of Flight..... Has anyone done any of this stuff which is outside of WDW or got any good recommendations of things not to miss? My brain is gonna OVERLOAD! :rotfl:

Afternoon!!

D&D, you know anytime you need to vent, b***h, blow of some steam, you come here and find us. You'll always find a bunch of shoulders to lean on. :grouphug: Are you ready for Bristol this weekend? I always have such a hard time picking for this race since anything can happen. Especially with the new guys who have never driven there. Oh, and I would never get rid of my Rusty shirts. I still hunt clearance racks at the racing store to see if I can find any that I don't have. I just wish Penske would have put any one else in his car.

marie,  Congrats on making those reservations. I don't have any favorite foods/snacks at Disney but everyone raves about the Dole Whips. And don't forget to check out the menus for all the different snack places in World Showcase. There'll be plenty of good things to choose from there.

Wow Marie, that place looks really nice. And CHEAP!!!!!!!!

Gee, it sounds like everybody is going to DWD. (As she sadly waves bye bye) I liked the Dole Whips, DH wasn't impressed. We try not to snack too much..takes too long to work it off. :yay: :sad2:
I'm slightly bummed...missed out on a great price for a hotel in Vancouver. It was right next to the cruise terminal. Now we'll do Priceline and see if we can get a decent room. But won't be close to the terminals but maybe closer to Stanley Park.I'm trying to be optimistic. DH likes to wait to the last minute and drive me crazy. But I've told him there are lot of cruise passengers planning to be there at the same time. Maybe he'll listen to me...naw. :confused3

Good afternoon ladies! It seems I missed a lot of chat last night. I don't watch AI so I can't help out there. Am excited for ER tonight. I always liked Neela. Not a huge fan of Abby, though.

Happy birthday LITC's niece! 10 is a great age. They're really their own person. And don't forget to schedule me in at Disney--Friday night?

DL...you're taking an Alaskan cruise? How exciting! I've been toying with the idea of a cruise someday. I THINK that may be something BF would be interested in. And I love Stanley Park! I haven't been to Vancouver in a few years, but if you have some days, definitely check it out.

Marie...congrats on the dates! You're going to celebrate mine and Ev's birthday! I actually love to venture beyond the parks, so feel free to ask any questions. I hope I can help out. We've done Wonderworks, the Titanic exhibit, Ripley's, Holy Land Experience, and driven to the coast to see the ocean and tour Cape Canaveral.

CHurros are pretty standard. I remember seeing them on carts everywhere. There's a candy shop on Main Street in MK, a candy shop next to the Lucy exhibit in DHS, and a patisserie in France in EPCOT that would probably have your covered strawberries. I remember seeing fruit and parfait, but it was only at the breakfast place on Main Street on the right.

BF survived babysitting no problem. He said he fed her toaster strudel. I guess there are worst things in the world.

Tomorrow is an all-day marathon of Battlestar Galactica. I have my snacks ready. I'm so sad to see it go. BF and I have three shows in common: Heroes, Breaking Bad and Nancy Grace. What is it with men and re-runs? He can watch King of Queens every night and not get tired of it. I watch three minutes of it and am ready to run screaming from the room...

It was freezing rain here this morning! :scared1: When is it going to end?

Magikitty toaster strudels.. sounds like what a guy would 'cook' Sorry for your weather , it's nice, spring weather here. :duck:

We had planned to go to Alaska but after looking at the prices last year , had given up. But the prices have dropped a lot and we couldn't resist. After next year we won't be going on so many expensive trips. More camping for us. We love cruising (it's quite the opposite of camping). Since most ships dock (vs tendering) your BF shouldn't have much problem getting off the ship. It's also easy to get around on the ship.

Not me... :( At least, not in the foreseeable future.

You'll love the Alaska cruise--it's BEAUTIFUL!!!! When are you going? Which cruise line?

Thanks DL55 for the info! Do they make you interact with other guests? BF and I aren't very social people, and his main concern is being seated with other people. I recently found out that our timeshare can be exchanged for cruises, so it may be possible! There are some cruises that leave from NY, but I'd be interested in one that takes us somewhere new--like the Caribbean or Mexico. And Alaska! I'd love to do those, but unless I was already visiting family in Vancouver, its pretty far!

Oh! I forgot to say...my sister works at the hospital where Natasha Richardson was at. She was so mad coz getting to work has been terrible! She wasn't on the floor where the family was, but they get a lot of celebrity patients there and she's never seen it that crazy!

MK, you are not forced to interact. Also, you can ask for a small table. Not sure if there are tables for 2, but certainly there are tables for 4, so you might just get put with another couple. But there are plenty of chances for solitude and privacy.

I think there are Carnival cruises to the Caribbean that leave from NYC or Bayonne. Probably Bermuda and the Bahamas too. Also, some apparently leave from Baltimore, which isn't too too far.

Go for it!!

Hey Marie, glad to see you checked in. That house looks awesome! Just the kind of place I would want to stay if I didn't have a "thing" about staying on property, LOL!!
Churros are found in lots of places in WDW, your DS won't have a problem. Not sure about the other snacks, sorry. If I notice them in May I will let you know. The funnel cakes at Sleepy Hollow in magic kingdom are really yummy. I always have to get a turkey leg in adventureland, Oh and the ice cream cookie sandwiches at Mrs. Potts right by Dumbo are yummy, they make them fresh. Auntie Gravity'd in tomorrowland has super yummy smoothies, ok I need to stop thinking about food.....oh wait, Earl of Sandwich in Downtown Disney...absolutely anything there is YUM-O-LA!!!

Hey Kitty! Wow everything must be going crazy for your sister. That must have been allot of added stress.
And of course we are meeting up at WDW, you can pick where I know you have little ones to work around and I don't so you can let me know!!! So excited!!!!!

It was actually pretty good today. My sis came to pick up DD and take her to school for me. So, I went back to bed for a while. Felt good to get a little bit more sleep.

How was your day?

I had a pretty poopy day at work actually. But I am here to forget it!! Just keeping my mind on my check in at disney in 43 days!
