It's not bad. There are a lot worse things he could have done. No body piercings so I guess I can live with the mohawk.

Matching t-shirts....hmmm. Winder what I can come up with. :rolleyes1

Yeah...mohawks grow out. I remember when the Beatles first came on the scene....their hair was so long...it was awful. If you look at them now, it really was short. It's just hair.

About the t-shirts...remember, nothing to do with 18...

Now you be nice about 18 or I'll make us all those "booty" shorts with the words on them. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I remember my parents telling how it was such a big deal that the Beatles had long hair. Funny thing is, my dad now has longer hair than the Beatles did back then.

Now you are making me feel old...

I was only a child myself then...well in middle school.

How can you be feeling old? You are the only who can stay up with me. :goodvibes

I already made my picks for this week. Had to leave Jr off. I just keep getting this feeling that he doesn't get as good stuff as Jeffie and Jimmie.

I've narrowed it down to 7...maybe have to keep that #18 on...:confused3

That's who I replaced Jr with. All favoritism aside, once he wins the first, he usually is on a roll.

Kyle won last year's spring Atlanta race. Biffle is having a decent year and Mikey has just shocked me this year.

I'll save Jr until the next race.....It's Bristol, Baby!!!!!:rotfl:

I'll be in FL for Bristol. I'll probably get to watch it. I think I'll give you my picks to post while I'm away. I did the other thread for extra choices but I may want different ones. I really haven't checked it out yet.
I was going to pick Mikey but he wasn't in the top 10 winners there. I hope he does good this year. Have you seen the commercial his daughter is in with him?

I'll post your picks...no problem. And stop reminding me that you'll be FL. :sad1:

I'd like to see Mikey do good this year but it must be hard to drive and run a team. I'll be real interested to see how Tony handles that.

Haven't seen that commercial...I don't think. I don't get to see too many commercial anymore since that's when I play referee with the kids. :rotfl:

Got this email:
The Importance of Walking

Walking can add minutes to your life. This enables you at 85 years old
to spend an additional 5 months in a nursing home at $7000 per month.

My grandpa started walking five miles a day when he was 60.
Now he's 97 years old and we don't know where he is.

I have to walk early in the morning, before my brain figures out what I'm doing.

I joined a health club last year, spent about 400 bucks. Haven't lost a pound.
Apparently you have to go there.

Every time I hear the dirty word 'exercise', I wash my mouth out with chocolate.

I do have flabby thighs, but fortunately my stomach covers them.

The advantage of exercising every day is so when you die, they'll say, 'Well, she looks good doesn't she.'

If you are going to try cross-country skiing, start with a small country.

I know I got a lot of exercise the last few years,......just getting over the hill.

We all get heavier as we get older, because there's a lot more information in our heads. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Every time I start thinking too much about how I look, I just find a Happy Hour and by the time I leave, I look just fine.

I swear I did not send that to you!!! But I'd like to know who the heck could read my mind about exercising. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

For the meet, we should probably just get a block of rooms anyway. I have a feeling that we'll be giggling like school girls again at all hours of the night! Pillow fights and snacks and all! But I should warn you, sometimes I snore. (at least that's what I've been told)

Ooooh, that sounds like a great idea! A block of rooms so we can all hang out together!!! party in my room!!

We could get matching tee shirts and be like one of the infamous Brazilian tour groups taking over Hershey! Woo-hoo! (and I would love to meet the fam!) :cool1:

I like that idea. Matching Tshirts. hmmmmmm...

Yeah...mohawks grow out. I remember when the Beatles first came on the scene....their hair was so long...it was awful. If you look at them now, it really was short. It's just hair.

That's my view too. If the worst thing DS does is have long hair, I'll consider it a blessing. As long as he keeps it out of his eyes and relatively neat, it's fine. And DD has no interest in anything fancy with her hair--I'm just happy if she washes it and combs it! If she wants to add weird colors, that will be fine with me.

I thought they were cute. Wendy will love it...

I LOVE it!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Walking has never been my favorite form of exercise...unless I'm walking around Scotland, of course!

OK, update on my Dad. He doesnt' have much pain, but was just uncomfortable enough to not sleep well last night. He still can't move his arm. Couldn't put on his shoes and sox this am. he is going for an Xray at 11 so we will see what it is. He thinks he landed the same way as my Mom did when she destroyed her rotator cuff years ago. i hope and pray it isn't that bad. He'd miss golf all season and be miserable! he's supposed to go to Philly this weekend, hope that still works out ok. I'll keep y'all posted.

I don't know if judges being appointed make your news but my cousin in Hampton was just appointed...maybe a district judge. Not sure what kind.
.

No, but they should! What a great accomplishment!!! Congratulations to your Cousin!!! That is awesome. :goodvibes

Wendy- Sending best wishes out to your Dad. How is he feeling today?

M&N how cool about your cousin!

Well, the good news is Dad won't need surgery, and it isn't his rotator cuff. The bad news is he broke his shoulder. YIKES! So he is in a sling for 4 weeks. Has to buy all new shirts, since all he has is pullovers and he can't wear them. I asked about PT and he said no, but I know he's gonna need it when the sling comes off becuase the muscles will atrophy. At least he is able to type, and I think he can drive too.

He and mom got each other dressed this AM :rotfl: That must have been quite an adventure! Guess he'll have to get some velcro shoes. I suggested UGGs and he was not impressed. :lmao: Guess he won't be playing golf for awhile...

whgrn Glad to hear your staples are out. Sorry to hear about your Dad. I do think that he'll recover faster from the broken shoulder than he would from a torn rotator cuff. :flower3:

I know those tests are scarey for the kids to take. How many days does it take? I know the upper grades have 5 tests to get in.
We get 5 days to give Math, Reading and Language. 3rd grade takes the entire battery of tests. :scared: They get 10 days.

Hi Race, I will definitely try to make the meet. Fortunately I could drive there I think it took my sister 8 hours last summer when she went. And I would probably have to stay "off-site" then I could probably swing it, keeping my fingers crossed!
As we drive through Ohio this summer, you can follow us to PA. (after we stop in Sandusky of course. :thumbsup2 )
You can always camp with us. No one else on here is brave enough to camp. For some reason, they need beds, AC, TV and a bathroom. Sheesh!:snooty:

Magikitty, shhh, I've been told I snore too. But I still believe it's DH being half awake and hearing himself. :rotfl:
I'm trying to convince DH to keep the mohawk until the Hershey meet. He'd have to to bring the kids since they will not let me anywhere near any amusement park without them.

My family will be there too. Won't let me go anywhere fun w/o them. Maybe we can have that NASCAR party on Sunday??? Where are they racing that weekend?

So you like the mohawk?
We could get matching tee shirts and be like one of the infamous Brazilian tour groups taking over Hershey! Woo-hoo! (and I would love to meet the fam!) :cool1:
Oh Racetrack... They are calling your name. How about this for a T-shirt logo... TKers Take a Bite out of Hershey 2009
eat_chocolate.gif

Whgrn - Hope your Dad is doing well. :flower3:

Pepper - You've got to join us this summer. Save some money and camp with me.

D&DDisney Love the shirt logo..but how are you going to make the smilie eat the chocolate on the shirt? :rotfl2:
