Four-mer TKers...4 one, 4 all, 4 ever

Hey all...had a couple of busy days...DS turned 9 yesterday and today was my day to go into work....had 3 pages to catch up on.

Way to go EV! Did you see all the movies? I only saw Bolt and WallE!

I haven't seen either of those...keep meaning to pick up WallE for the kids. We watched Slumdogs and Doubt on Sat night...somebody lent us "copies". Doubt was OK but the acting was amazing > especially Meryl Streep. I love Slumdogs...it was disturbing at times, but definitely Oscar worthy. Other than that I just guessed better than everyone else.:rotfl:

I am going home on Thursday! I am doing so well that they are kicking me out! Today I did a whole flight of steps, up and down! I was so tired by the end of the afternoon therapy that I came back to my room, climbed in bed and fell sound asleep for nearly an hour!

I can't wait to get home to see my kids and my doggie! (please remind me of that when I tell you that they are driving me nuts). And it looks like I will be able to go to my cousin's twins' christening on Saturday too!

It's all good...:cloud9:

Congrats...so glad to hear you're healing so fast.

Hey!

DH thinks I am sick because it smells all around the house. 13 beds, all turned-allergies to mold- and add in horse manure and all the trees are in bloom right now-. I think I am sick because it is just killing my allergies.

OK I want advice from ya'll... we are thinking about canceling the WDW trip, either renting out the reservation (Boardwalk Villa, Boardwalk view) or banking the points because believe it or not DD wants to go see her cousins in Ohio instead of going to WDW in June. Now, I really don't care because June in FL is just as hot as June in Texas so I would love to go some place cooler. We have looked into going to Cedar Point but the hotels all have a terrible rating and bad reviews per Trip Advisor.com. We have done Kings Island so I don't really want to do it again but really is Hershey Park worth the drive from Cincinnati? I would love to drive on over to see my BF in Alexadria, VA so maybe if DH thinks the trip will be good he migtht consider it.Your input would be appreciated....Where to stay, how long etc. :goodvibes

If your daughter loves rides Cedar Point is definitely the place to go, great roller coasters...I know someone who stayed last year at the Suites hotel and said it was nice.

Hi
Bopsmom
It's in the 80s today. :beach: I'm going to hate it when the temps go back to normal.

OK that's just not fair...it's a balmy 20*F here...wanna trade??

Hi Sukie

Hey Guys :wave2:

Just wanted to check in.
I called Wendy tonight and I hope that she is doing alright. :goodvibes:
I hope that she will be ready for summer fun. I hated to call being sick myself but I hope she would understand.
I have spent the last couple of days turning beds and getting things ready for spring then all of a sudden I have been really sick.
Really unusual for me. I can't keep anything down and I just feel terrible. Of course I still have to do the fundraiser, but luckily it is via computer and phones at this point. Yuck!

So sorry you are feeling lousy. It was so nice talking to you last night! And the flowers are opening today and are even more beautiful!

Well, I had my last therapy today. Got my new cane, got to make grillled cheese in OT, got my hair washed, now I am all set to go HOME!!!

Wendy, that is great news. :woohoo: :woohoo:

lighttech, going to enter that contest you posted about. And contest that I can go see a race is a good one. How are things going for you?

Sukie, we are almost due for new glasses too. I am so not looking forward to it. We always have a big run around with our insurance and it's a pain in the butt to get reimbursed.

DL55-80 sounds wonderful. Wish out temps were that high.

Hey all! Sorry I have been MIA for awhile, and thanks to those who were asking about me. Been pretty busy, my DH had a few days off and I wanted to spend some time with him for once. Work has been pretty stressful also, and I have been doing 6 days a week between both jobs. Also had a couple unexpected bills so that has also been stressing me out.

I did catch up with everyone's posts, I cant remember everything, but Kitty so glad you are home, wendy glad to hear you are doing so well, and ?Sukie that was awesome of you to buy pants for that school.

I looked at that site too but didn't enter. I could not get to the page where you see what kind of product you can use the code from. My computer acts funny some times. I'm trying again tomorrow. A free trip to a race...gotta love that.
You need to come here and get destressed LITC. Nothing like some poop stories to destress you! :rotfl: We're here to listen if you need us.
I was tired after my fitness center session today. They added 2 new machines for me to do. One for the back and one for the shoulders.
Did anyone see Biggest Looser? I cannot believe they kicked off the guy who lost the most weight. Now, I haven't watched it much but that didn't seem the best choice.
WHGN's coming home....

Good morning! Wet and yucky here. Does that mean spring has arrived and all the snow is finally melting? Or did I just miss a quickie snow shower?

Yeah on Wendy going home tomorrow! I knew they'd kick you out---you're a show-off! You kicked rehab's butt! You don't need no stinkin' rehab! Truly, congrats. There really is no place like home. I'm sure everyone will be glad to have you back too.

LITC...sorry about recent stressful time. You will get through it. Must have been nice to spend some extra time with the hubby too. See you have a ticker---good times to look forward to!

Ev, happy birthday to DD! Glad to hear you liked Slumdog...I so want to see it. Why is it rated R though? I do love Bollywood movies.

Roadtrip! Roadtrip! Hershey! Hershey! How can I campaign further for the Tker meet this summer?

I went to see the Lion King on Broadway yesterday. My sister and I got Mom tickets for Christmas. We also took my niece. Three generations in the City! We took Mom on the train for the first time--she survived! We ate at Juniors before the show. Too bad it was Ash Wednesday yesterday and I couldn't partake of the huge sandwiches! But we did split a slice of strawberry cheesecake....

The show was gorgeous. I'm so glad we went. I thought it would be similar to the show at Animal Kingdom--but it was so much better and magical! So beautiful and creative and amazing.

The cabbie dropped us off at Penn Station and asked my sister (who took the cab further to her apartment) how old Mom was. He said she looks good! At least the cabbie tried to pick up my Mom and not my 13 year old niece.

And I have a new ticker! I got tickets and hotel ressies for a trip in April. My SIL and nieces from the Phils are coming to visit. My oldest niece is graduation from high school, and they have Visas that are about to expire next year. They'll be meeting me from Georgia. I already have a car rental. Just need to look into the big one---Disney tickets! Arrgh! I think I'll be going with Undercover Tourist. Seems to have the best prices.

Have a good day all! Get better, stay better, and be safe everyone!

Welcome back LITC! :wave2:

Yeah to Kitty on her newly booked trip to WDW.

Whgrn - Yeah to coming home to your own bed, family & doggie! :dogdance:

Sukie - Yeah on the new glasses
sFun_glasses.gif
(I know you didn't get braces too, but this is the only smilie w/ glasses I could find) Those babies are pretty expensive. Every time my sight changes I get a new pair of glasses and contacts. Talk about expensive.

Hi Everyone else!

Afternoon! It's icky here today. It was suppose to reach 50 but we haven't even broken 40 yet. Still it's better than snow.

Magikitty-a girls only trip :cool1: :cool1: That's great!!!! I have the whole summer, except for the 2nd week of June, open for a Hershey meet. I'm up for it if any one else is.

D&D, did you decide if you are making the trip east this summer?

LITC, sorry I missed you last night. Good for you on getting to spend some time with DH. I bet that was nice. But if things ever get too stressful, you know you can come here and vent to us. That's what we are here for too.

:cheer2: :cheer2: I'm HOME!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Sukie, thank you SO much for the card!! You are so sweet (and funny too!)

Holly, the flowers are even more beautiful today!

MK, :cheer2: another WDW trip!!

It's a beautiful day in my neighborhood...and I'm here to see it!!!:cool1:

Welcome home whgrn :dance3:
Hi to LivinInTheCastle:wave:
Hi to everyone else too. :goodvibes

Things seem to be looking up for the TKers.
Our weight loss guru is up and running again.
Our fearless thread starter is ticker counting.
Our little 'dreamer' sounds better---at least good enough to complain about the weather again.
We've got others being faithful and posting again...DL55, LITC, EV, etc.
Sukie's back to bargain hunting.
Lighttech's diapers back to normal.
All is well in TKer land...:dance3:

Evening Ladies:

Ev, happy birthday to DD! Glad to hear you liked Slumdog...I so want to see it. Why is it rated R though? I do love Bollywood movies.

There are several very disturbing scenes depicting horrible things that happened to the characters as children...don't let it talk you out of seeing it though, it just sad how bad these children's lives are living in the slums. Be sure to stick around for the credits...pure Bollywood!!

:thumbsup2 Things are looking up.

Pepper! Sorry you're having heater issues tonight...its my worst nightmare! Although 40's sound heavenly right now! So I'm giggling at your frozen fingers.

I know what you mean by spacehog-pets...my tubby kitty always picks the best spot on the couch and REFUSES to move. When I get fed up and pick him up and move him, he gives me the dirtiest look that I know he's planning his revenge....

Thanks D&D for checking out the Entertainment book for me. I went searching for a USAirways promo code and it was mentioned somewhere...I'm quite near booking flights and always have second thoughts. Its that "just in case" syndrome. What if I book and a great promo code comes out the next day? It never ends. I always second guess.

Ha ha. Darn animals. But we love them so they get away with it ha ha.

My office mate is from New York and she cracks up at us all the time at work. We crank the heat, have our space heaters, wearing sweaters and still complain we are cold. :lmao: She said we have not seen cold.

Oh, I meant to tell you this, The other day (okay a month or so ago lol) we had a snow warning and all the schools in the area were canceled...it didn't snow. So the make up day was Presidents day and guess what? We got a dusting and the kids went to school. :rotfl:

Well, they closed my school! In the three years I have been here they have not canceled the whole day! But I still had to go to work

I hope you are all enjoying the snow or heat LOL. I am counting the seconds until I am in SC with my sis!

I'm sorry you still had to go. What a bummer. SC here you come! :thumbsup2

I am just so tired of this weather! I don't mean to wish my life away but I so want summer to get here. Spring is OK but we end up having mud and blackflies everywhere; I want summer!

Sounds pretty M&N!

Is your heater fixed pepper?

Have a good day!

Yep, sure is. Thanks for asking. It was some red button in the unit outside...like I knew what I was looking at when DH showed me how to "fix" it should it happen again if he is not home...yea, I'll get right on that. :lmao:

Congrats to M&N and BKMETV for their wins.
Pepperw23 Wish I could send you some heat...going to be 77 today.
Apparently Kenseth winning two in a row is a record. I'm trying to learn more about NASCAR so I can keep up with M&N and racetrack18kb,:rotfl2:

Oh, 77 sounds blissful!! :goodvibes

I hope you are feeling better now. I saw your other post about Ohio btw. I have only ever been to Columbus and that was for a cheerleading competition so we didn't really leave the main city. Sorry I can't help.

To those who are getting better - Yeah!
To those on a downward trend - Feel better!
To those holding their own - Keep up the good work! :)

Gotta run. Boss hasn't stopped dictating me more for my to-do list since lunch started... I gotta find a new place to eat lunch. :rolleyes1 (of course, I'm just glad I'm getting a lunch break today!)

I totally know how you feel! I finally got my lunch today around 2:00. I was a hungry girl by then. I had to close my office door and put a note that said "at lunch" so no one would know I was there. :rotfl:

Well there you are!!! We missed you! (I'm one to talk ha ha)

Don't let the problems of life stress you out. It sounds like you are working hard and really keeping control of your life. Focus on that and you will be just fine. ;) One thing I do when I am stressed out is I go outside and sit on the porch or in the yard and just listen to the sounds of life, the cars going by, dogs barking, birds chirping, kids playing, my teeth chattering (it is Feb after all lol). It is a great reminder that life goes on, keeps moving forward and all is right with the world. But then again, I can be a little odd at times. :rotfl: If all else fails there is always chocolate! :grouphug:

Good morning! Wet and yucky here. Does that mean spring has arrived and all the snow is finally melting? Or did I just miss a quickie snow shower?

I so envy you living in New York! Broadway, imagine. I have never even been to a major play much less a Broadway production.

You know I am all for a DIS meet over the summer. Hershey sounds fun to me. Or we have Busch Gardens down here. That is a fun place.

I'm HOME!!! :

Sukie, thank you SO much for the card!! You are so sweet (and funny too!)

Holly, the flowers are even more beautiful today!

Hi Everybody!

Hi M&N

BTW, Yes I did finally thaw out ha ha. I am not far enough south for my liking. Give me high 90's any day.

Welcome home whgrn :dance3:
Hi to LivinInTheCastle
Hi to everyone else too.

Hi DL55!!!

Hi to everyone!!!!!!

Good evening Tkers!

Just helped DS11 hang some stuff up on the walls of his newly painted bedroom. Star Wars posters, Pirates of the Caribbean poster and flag, Harry Potter calendar, and his karate certificates. It took me over an hour! I was trying to be all "Home and Garden" and actually measuring the distances for the certficate frames. I did OK but messed up with a couple and ended up cursing a little. Good thing DS11 stepped out of the room. :rotfl:

I see everyone is feeling better; I know I am. I still have to blow my nose more then normal but I can breath while I'm sleeping which is wonderful.

So lighttech, how are those diapers working out for you? :rotfl2:

I just realized that Sukie never says hi to me on here. :sad2: I know I talk with her on the phone but come on!

home Wendy!
