:rotfl: Ummmm. I've either completely lost it, or the boards did something funny.
Sorry for the double post either way!

Happy Valentine's Day!

:wave2: Hi DL it's good to be back, now everyone lets break into the Chorus of Hello Dolly:rotfl2:.

Nah it has to be the boards, now repeat after me...... "it's not my fault"

Funky kind of day, started going through DS's toys in the basement:scared1: , if I had the money for all the 'stuff' he has I could take care of the stimulus plan :lmao:. Just not in the mood to really do 'clean up throw out' maybe I'll take a ride to Micheal's, if I buy something to organize his lego's then I can act like I accomplished something. Right?????:confused3

:rotfl: Absolutely. I've often made a ride out to AC Moore (its closer than Michaels) b/c a basket or organizer is "exactly what I need to get this house in order!" :rotfl:

OK, I need an opinion (although I think my mind is made up anyway.)

DS and BL were supposed to go to MILs today so DH and I could have a "date day." Then, BL was going to come home, but DS was going to stay for a sleepover. (MIL and FIL are both off tomorrow.) FIL just called and poor MIL got the stomach flu that's going around and has been up all night sick. So, needless to say, the kids are staying home. But, apparently FIL said "maybe the kids can come over tomorrow instead." (I'm home on Mondays, so its not like I need them to go there. Plus, I like spending whatever time I can w/ them.) But, normally, I'd say "no problem." I know FIL doesn't get to spend as much time w/ them as he'd like. (We do see them a few times/month though, so he's not deprived either.) But, especially w/ all the sickness we've had around here, I don't think its a good idea for DS3 and the baby to be hanging out w/ MIL one day after she's had the stomach flu. So, I said no. DH is kinda' pissed. (He hates conflict and, like all men, can't stand to tell his mother no.) But, I really think I need to hold my ground. DH and I are both completely out of sick and personal time for the whole year! :scared1: Plus I just don't want the kids to get sick... again. MIL and FIL have a tendency to think I'm always being over protective, but I really don't think I'm being unreasonable. Am I? I already said I'll make every effort to get them some kid time soon since they mised today.

I would vote "no". Your reasons for not going are correct. The 'bug' could still be luriking around the house, your MIL will be in a weakened condition. Your FIL might still get it.
DH can be pissed-sorry-does he plan to stay at home with puking kids if they get sick? Hate to be hard-a** but that is how it goes. You don't have the time to deal with the probability of sick children. Your MIL should understand that you can not take days off for sick children-not to mention the expense.
Can't FIL visit you at your house? An ounce of prevention.....and all that jazz.

Hope you all stay healthy and your MIL gets feeling better soon.

Thanks. I don't think you are being a "hard-a**". I feel pretty certain about my decision. We've all been thru flu/cold/stomach flu/bronchiolitis... blah, blah, blah. I've just plain had enough. Plus, I had this stomach thing last week, I don't even think its going to be an issue. If MIL feels anything like I did, she's going to be in no mood for visiting kids, no matter how much she loves them.

Lighttech I agree with your decision also. I was thinking that your MIL would not be back to "normal" and should rest too. One missed visit with the grandkids is not the end of the world. They will see them later when everyone is back to full strength. :goodvibes

Afternoon. I caught some kind of horrible cold and spent all of yesterday in bed. A little better today but I feel like I'm ready for a nap.

lighttech, for what it's worth, you're making the right decision not letting the kids to visit the in-laws. You all have been fighting the sicknesses that have been going around for so long that you don't want to risk a relapse at any time. Sure, your DH might be pi**ed right now but when nobody get the stomach bug, he'll be thankful. DD7 had that stomach bug on Friday and it took her until today just to feel normal. She did not want to do anything yesterday....including playing the Wii (I knew she was really sick then  )

M&N, I thought I was very well behaved (I could have posted a pic of Jr's wrecked car) considering that KB did so much better than Jr this week. :rolleyes1 You know I love ya  even if you have poor taste in race car drivers. :rotfl2:

DL55-have a nice trip. See ya when you get back!!!

Uh-oh I guess Race thinks I have bad taste to!!

Thanks for the votes of confidence...

And
GREEN, GREEN, GO, GO, GO!

PS - Racetrack... you can't fool me, I know you're not napping right now. Not for 160 more laps anyway! :rotfl:

With the way Kyle is racing today I serious doubt that Racetrack is sleeping one wink. Go M&Ms car - as my DS6 says. :thumbsup2

Always there to support a friend:goodvibes You have your family to think of but, littlest ones first. Your MIL probably thanks you:)

:lmao: Had to spend Valentine's day in bed..hmmmmm yeah, cold, that's the ticket.... we know what you were up to......;) ;) JK hope you feel better soon.

OK, I'm getting into the game a little late (for some reason, I couldn't get on the Dis until now--it seems it was running really really slow) BUT, here's my $0.02, FWIW.

Lighttech, you are 100%, absolutely positively RIGHT!!! NO WAY should your boys be going to Grandma's the day after she's got the stomach bug! She doesn't need the stress when she's sick, you don't need the stress of worrying that they'll catch it from her, and the kids don't need to get sick. DH needs to get over it, get a clue, and get real. The needs of the kids come first. #1. Grandma is a big girl--she'll get over it!

NOW, who's a Hard-a**??? :lmao:

Well, Mom has my suitcase for rehab, along with the food for breakfasts and lunches while I'm there. My suitcase for the hospital is pretty much packed, just need to toss in a couple things. My BFF fixed my mini laptop so it will work at the hospital and rehab. Now I just have to take care of the trillion and one things that need to be done before I have this surgery! But thankfully, I'm feeling about 99% back to my normal self. No more sickies! So I am ready to DO THIS THING!!!

My kids went to the NJ Devils game tonite. I got to see them on TV! it was so cool.

Doesn't MK come back this week??

Are you going in the morning???? How long will you be in for???
I will start the Here Kitty soon..... but I want to know about you first.

I leave Tuesday night to go into NYC. We'll stay over at the hospital's hotel so we can be there bright and early Wednesday for surgery. (BFF is going in with me) I'll be in the hospital until Saturday, when they'll move me to rehab. I'll be there from Saturday until the following Friday or Saturday.

OK, time for "Here Kitty"!!!:rotfl:

My DH and kids are in heaven. Made a pilgrimage to the Kennseth museum here in WI. Now we'll also have to visit Daytona this year to see the car. That's fine with me, as long as we make a stop in WDW, I'll go.
Poor Kyle got knocked out by Jr. :headache: I thought for sure M&N and Racetrack would be talkin' Track Smack by now. :lmao: Where are you two????:confused3

Whgrn - I hope everything goes well for you this week. Thoughts and prayers are with you.

Let us know if there is anything we can do for ya.

Lighttech - I agree with you. That stomach flu is nasty. :scared: Stay far far away from it til you're sure it is safe to go back. Hope your in-laws understand.

Here Kitty, Kitty, Kitty....
