OK, if we are gonna talk about concerts, here's my list, at least what I can remember...

The Jacksons "Victory" Tour
Billy Joel
Dixie Chicks (X2)
Tim McGraw
Reba (X3)
Mary Chapin Carpenter (X3)
James Taylor
Michael W. Smith
The Catenas
Point of Grace
Mark Schultz (X4)
Big Daddy Weave (X2)
Avalon
4Him
Casting Crowns

I know there are more I'm forgetting. Oh well...

Evening!!!

D&DDisney, you saw Garth?!!! :worship: I regret that I've never got the chance to see him. My parents took me to see Def Leppard (my favorite at the time) for my 16th birthday. I thought my parents were to coolest people at that time. Heck, they even drove to PHilly for that concert.

I supposedly live in a nice little town. My 87 year old friend who is like my mother had the back of her house egged last night. It is just so stupid. She lives alone. Her husband died a year ago last Sept. She's just getting more at ease living alone and this happens. Why do people want to be so uncaring? It apparently has been happening in the neighborhood. I live 3 blocks from her. Someone else had it done but thought it was done to put their daughter down but apparently it's just a 'fun' thing to do. The mailman told her he's seen a lot of egg shells around. The police came but of course, what could they do except look around and file a report. Her son had someone power wash it off. I guess I had better walk around my house more...I don't open the curtains to my side and back windows.

:sad2: :sad2: That's just horrible. I wonder what goes through their minds while they are doing this. Probably nothing. :confused3

The only way I got to see Garth was buying tickets from a broker. :scared: I waited in line for hours trying to get them the old fashion way, but of course they ran out before my number was called. :sad1: I then tried to win them on radio stations with no luck. Finally bit the bullet and paid a broker for them. I JUST HAD TO SEE GARTH..:hyper:  I had such a crush on Garth before he "gained some weight".

That's just lower than low in my book. :sad2:

Bopsmom - That's quite a list ya got there. It is a wonder we all can still hear. :listen: I dread the day my sons start wanted to go to concerts. I too wil have to sit through my share of "Hannah Montana & Jonas Brothers". :guilty: Although I like some of their music, don't think I could sit through a whole concert though.

OOOOOH, I forgot these 2:

Peter, Paul and Mary
Simon and Garfunkel

Both seen as an adult, with my parents!

I like him too. I like the chubby boys that look like they play baseball:thumbsup2

That's just lower than low in my book. :sad2:
That's terrible. I hope she is ok. Does she have motion activated ligts? That really helped my DM feel safer. Were are the parents of the little vandals????
We had a rash of car/house egging here until some upset neighbor pulled out a shotgun on the vandals.
Worse yet, the parents of the offenders wanted to sue the homeowners:sad2: WTHeck is that about:confused3.

I was kinda shocked with it too but considering Houston has a ton of venues and lots of local talent we get a lot of bands come through.
Concerts back in the day cost about as much as a dinner and a movie so that was 'date night' when we were growing up.
This list was just headliners-goodness there were tons of opening acts (Selena, Hootie, etc.) that become famous.
The Rodeo has brought in tons of talent over the years and the prices were good for families to go together.
I hate brokers too but nowadays that is about the only way to get tickets anymore:sad2:

OMG I loved S&G!
Wendy-I wanna party with you! Seems like we have a lot in common history:goodvibes
My oldest bro got to see CSN&Y, Bread, Yardbirds, The Who we were just too young to see them-lucky duck. One of my fondest memories was when he'd take me and my other brother to the record store with him:goodvibes

D&DDisney sorry for your friend.
Bopsmom That's why there are so many messed up teens. The parents think their kids can do no wrong. Grew up next to a family like that. We always knew when the youngest son was out of jail..the police were in front of the house picking him up again. :sad2:

Anybody regret not seeing some entertainers? I had wanted to see Elvis, John Denver and Steve Erwin (well he was entertaining). Of course now it's too late.

Just have a minute... I tried to catch up, but only made it to about 3 pages back.

Ummm...
Hi Pepper!
Whgrn - thanks for the ad link on youtube. DS decided he wanted to play "clubhouse" w/ me under the snack table at the party we were at, so I missed most of the game (and commercials.) But, I did have fun in my "private club!" :rotfl2: Ah, the things we moms do.
Racetrack - I think the concert thing sounds like an excellent plan! Especially if DD is responsible to begin with.
Marie - DHes can be real poo-poo heads sometimes. And, I agree, mine is definitey moodier than me some days.
Gotta check out that Disney on Ice thread! I'll have time someday...

Well, that's all I can remember, and all I have time for... swamped here today as always.

Take care everybody!

:wave2: Thanks for the kind words-
I think it's funny that it took your DD so long to go for a car! :rotfl2: Serioulsy, I am so sorry that she is getting a ration of 'stuff' from a friend and a boyfriend. :sad2:
I really hate to think about what will happen when boys get thrown into the mix.:crazy2:
BTW-My DD would have asked for a pink Vespa Scooter on her first try!:rotfl:
Then I would have had to buy two pink Vespas because, 1) I want one and 2) I have to deal with the b*(chy moms and they are just as bad.

Check back soon and chat.:wave2:
DD has a car, she just wants a better one lol.:rotfl: Geeze, I was happy with my pea green mazda wagon when I was her age.

Pepper!!!! Missed you? What are you talking about? Of course we did!!! I'm just sorry I missed you tonight. How are you doing? :flower3: I'll have to remember your idea of "revenge" when DD runs into the same problems. That is so wickedly evil and I love it. :thumbsup2

I am doing good. :thumbsup2

Yea, it is evil but hey, I figure no one gets hurt (except my wallet ha ha)

Ok, I need all y'all opinions on a possible parenting dilemma. I swear it's nothing bad this time. :lmao: We are actually on a roll with DS and things are good with him. This has to do with DD12.

She will be 13 next month. We just found out that one of her very favorite singers, Taylor Swift, will be going on tour. She is also from our area so we are figuring that she will put a show or two on close to here. I know DD will want to go see her with at least one friend. But I also know she will not want to sit with mom or dad. I've come to grips that we are just "not cool enough anymore". :sad1:

Anyways, we were thinking that if we have the chance to go, we would get 2 sets of tickets. One set for DD and her friend and one for DH and I a few rows behind them. Our set would only be a couple of rows behind them so that we could see them at all times. Bathroom breaks and such would have to be with one of us. They absolutely would not be allowed to roam the arena on their own.

Does this sound like a good idea? Or is she still too young for this? She's always gone to concerts with us but I know there comes a time when I have to trust her a little more. My dad was way over protective and I don't want to fall into that either.

Ugghhh! I am not looking forward to the teen years with her!!!!!!!!!

I think that is a great idea! I remember I was about her age and I wanted to go to the Pat Benatar(sp) concert and my parents would not let me (as an adult I get it ha ha) I remember I was so mad!! I was not allowed to go to concerts until I was like 17...ish, and even then I was pushing my luck ha ha.

racetrack18kb There was no way in he** that my parents would take me to a concert. :rotfl:
[

me either lol. See above. :rotfl: My Mom was convinced a concert was dangerous. It probably was back then since that was before the days of assigned seating.

Evening all.

racetrack~ That sounds like a great idea. You seem to have everything under control.

My sister's princess~ Really cool pictures.

pepperw23~ Nice to hear from you. Stop by when you can.

:wave2: Hi whgrn, mariezp, DL55, Bopsmom

"MEN" What can I say?

Chat later.

I have always meant to ask. Are you Sukie because you like Gilmore Girls? :)

I don't remember much Super Bowl talk??? How about those commercials? Anyone have any they liked? Didn't like?

I like the Bud ones of course---those horses are great. I also like the one with the lady bug and others who took the drink--Pepsi or Coke??? I just thought it was very creative but now am drawing a blank about the rest of it. I would have liked to see it again. For many though, once was enough.

I liked the Doritos one. That seemed like something the guys at my work would pull. :rotfl: :rotfl2:
