Four day trip- worth the money for you?

Thanks agin for all the feedback all! This price is for POP with free dining and park hoppers for four days. We are flying out of Boston and it really adds up!
Oh my goodness if you are in Boston then 100% you can find a better deal on flights!!!!!!!!!

You have a lot of options to choose from!

So far we have only done short trips with my daughter and have not regretted them at all. At two we did one MK day and one resort day, at three for three nights four days with one day in each park and this past December we did four nights five days at age four. The only one that was a stand alone Disney trip was the last, the others were part of longer Florida beach vacations. I think they have been the perfect length to do the highlights for her without being overwhelming.

On our trip 12/13-17 in 2015 we had the dining plan and my only regret was fitting in four table service meals to a short trip- it did feel like that ate into the time, or at least made us more rushed because we had somewhere to be. I'm guessing that since you're budgeting in money for a character meal that you'll have the quick service plan and I think that's the way to go on a shorter trip, with maybe one character meal since they are fun!

I'll echo others who have said that as long as you plan on a highlight reel rather than feeling like you've done everything you could want to do then you'll have a great trip!

When I go to WDW, I usually go for 4-5 days/nights.

I like going for short trips.

Pop for that price?

Yikes - I assumed it was at least a mod if not a deluxe. Free dining??? Seems off...

Yeah I was thinking for the package combo with hotel/tickets/dining it was ok but yeah I agree- it's a lot! I did a comparison free dining vs another fall package discount for other dates in September and it was still almost a couple hundred cheaper in favor of free dining (if I did it correctly).

I may have immediately gone to the res page and did a mockup of your trip. Got same amount ;)

I just booked a 4 night stay for Dec. 10 - 14, 2016 and coming from Maine! Staying at ASMu with 4 day park hopper tickets and upgraded our free dining to the regular dining so our package came to $1592.98! Still need to book our flights but waiting for SW to release their December schedule! After using points, I'll probably have to pay about $300 for flights based on prices I am seeing right now! Plus, we have to rent a scooter for mom, which will be about $140. So looking at about $2100 total for this quick trip plus the cost of the Mickey's very Merry Christmas Party tickets!!!!!

So is the price worth it for our quick stay? I'd say yes for us for a few reasons! I'm surprising mom with this trip this weekend as a retirement gift! Neither of us have been during this time of year! We have only ever gone in the dead heat of summer! We both love Christmas time and Disney and what better than to get the chance to experience the both of them together with her! I'm more excited about this trip than the trip I have this August doing my 1st split stay staying 4 nights at the YC and then 4 nights at the Polynesian!

edited to remove...

I was behind reading and others are helping drop the cost a lot :)

Did you upgrade the meal plan to the deluxe? that's a lot of time and food to be worth spending that money for just 4 park days.. Is your travel cost also in that number? I think if you ran the numbers including historical pop discounts that won't come out until the end of summer for what non-hopper + discounted pop room + OOP mostly quick service and you can get a lot of that cost down..

Is your travel costs in that number as well? how much of that is just traveling?

Do you mean flight expenses? If so then yes... Maybe I should book free dining and then change it if the deal is better when it comes out? The flight is about 900 right now... The Pop room/tickets/free dining package was about 2200.

Book the trip you can afford now and never stop looking for a bigger discount. You can apply any discount until disney gives you a room number.. that's when your officially checked in :) I know you already have a lot of work going on with planning and this is just 1 more thing but you never know what you can get off before you step foot. now there is some situations where there might be a fee but call and ask, sometimes they waive the change fee and other times it's still cheaper even if you only save another dollar to just pay the change fee.

Thanks very much for the info! :)

My dates are completely different but wanted to chime in all that we have ever done is 5 nights in the past. This year we will have 6 nights. Before i have been able to book super early arrival flights and late departure so we can take advantage of both says. This year I am also trying to fit in one day offsite at Universal. I agree with everyone and I will also just try to hit the highlights in each park. Our dates are 8/13-8/19. We have a room only on the 13th at Pop ( around $150) then our 5 night package at Beach Club with 6 day park hoppers no dining is 2700.

We are doing a 5 night stay with 4 days in the park in Sept for around the same price. I haven't added in extra events and souvenirs though. Its just dh and I, no kids this time.

We are a family of 5, 2 adults, 2 Disney adults and 1 child, going for 10 nights staying at CBR, full dining (free), 10 day MYW plus water park and paying $4400. No I ou would never spend that amount of money for 4 days, but to each his own. If you go, have fun!

Here are some things to consider : dump the park hoppers, that should save some money. And for a short trip hopping takes time you may not want to invest. Also, only eat the free cs food your value resort free dining entails. Lastly, if you wait to go later, and your nine month old is over two, you'll be shelling out airfare for them so going when they fly free is nice!

On our short trips we do not hop and we do not eat full serve meals. Both take too much time out of our schedule!

And for me, the Christmas decorations would win over late September.

ETA: just remembered that I "think " you have to have park hoppers on Free Dining packages now!
