Well I thought it was about time I started this TR as I’ve now been back all of 2 days :rotfl2: If you want some light reading check out my Pre TR here!

OK some quick introductions…..

Me, Jo a 34 year old SAHM who loves WDW and is totally addicted to the DIS boards, just ask my DH :lmao: This was my sixth trip.

DH, David a 35-year-old PGA Golf Pro (yes LL a real one  ) He is gradually coming over to the Disney side and can’t believe how much he enjoys it.

I have 2 DD’s Jess, 11 and Ellie, 9. You’ll find out all about these 2 as my TR progresses :rotfl:

This trip was our second as a family.

D Day was Monday 13th August 2007 and we were going for a fortnight (2 weeks) We stayed at CSR and were lucky enough to have free dining. All ADR’s were made in February, Touring plans were sorted, thanks to a little help from TGM, we were all set to start our 2 weeks of fun :goodvibes

The alarm went off about 6am, although DH and I had been awake for a while, those adverts where the adults are more excited than the kids are so true :rotfl2: We managed a quick brekkie and shower before the taxi arrived at 7am. We had to take the back route to Gatwick Airport as the M25 (known as the biggest car park in the UK!!!) was at a complete standstill but we still made good time and went straight to Virgins bag drop as I’d already checked in online :thumbsup2

Pretty uneventful security checks and we were soon chilling in the departure lounge browsing the shops etc. The DD’s and I have a tradition of going to the Body Shop and smearing our arms in all the body butters so we smell, well, imagine about 5 strong scents on our arms and be thankful you’re not sat next to us. :lmao: Well would you believe the staff were hanging around the samples, maybe they knew we were coming ;) So smelling normal we headed off to the gate and the flight was all on time :yay: All Virgin planes have a name and our’s was English Rose, Rosie did you pinch the planes name or did they pinch yours :rotfl: It was a 9 hour flight and we watched several films including Shrek 3 and Blades of Glory. Lunch was meatballs and rice and tea was a yucky sandwich. We also received an ice cream during the films :)

The announcer was hilarious he was saying about a passenger on board who had a serious nut allergy so could everyone keep their nuts covered, well the whole plane was in hysterics :rotfl2: He then went on to say about no smoking on board or in the airport and if any one found where they could smoke could they please let him know as he was dying for a smoke :rotfl: Lastly as we were landing he said due to US regulations no dairy products, meat products or big bags of maltesers are allowed to be taken into the country so must be left with him!!!!!

So we safely arrived at MCO pretty much on time at 3pm, we headed to the passport control which always takes ages, get to the front of the queue when Ellie announces she feels sick, yeah right, so we tell her just to sit down and what do you know she’s sick all over the floor  Now this is where I definitely become mother of the year, there are soooooo many people behind us that I find a bag and the lady behind gives me tissues rather than take her to the toilets, I know I’m a wonderful mum aren’t I but hey we didn’t lose our place in line :rotfl2:

Big excitement for David when we spotted Nick Faldo, a top English Golfer, collecting his luggage too!!!!

We found the ME desk pretty easily and I joined the queue of about 10 people, it moved pretty quickly too and everyone was getting Have a magical day, well guess who got a have a nice day  :rotfl: The bus was waiting and as we were getting on the CM said “How are you doing” to the girls, I thought that was slightly weird! We were the first stop :yay: and there were only 2 people in front at check in. :thumbsup2 We didn’t get what we asked for but the next building along 7B in the Ranchos it was right near the bus stop and our quiet pool and only a few minutes walk from the dig site pool, so it was OK. Why is it though that the first try at finding your room you always take the long route  First thing to do after travelling for over 12 hours is a swim and oh my, how good does that feel :cloud9: Food was the next stop and although we had the DDP we still shared 2 cheese burgers and fries as it was past midnight UK time so we were struggling to stay awake! Back to the room to find our luggage still not there so the girls went to sleep in their birthday suits :rotfl: This was after Jess had her turn at feeling ill!!!! The bags finally arrived at 8.45pm so I could finally crash too, so I just missed the 9pm that I was aiming for :rotfl2:

Up next, how early can we wake up………

Great start so far. :thumbsup2

-Michelle

P.S. Have a MAGICAL Day! pixiedust: I get a bit miffed when I don't get my 'Welcome Home' when we check in, so I understand. ::yes::

Well I thought it was about time I started this TR as I’ve now been back all of 2 days :rotfl2:

It's about time!!!!:rolleyes1

DH, David a 35-year-old PGA Golf Pro (yes LL a real one  ) He is gradually coming over to the Disney side and can’t believe how much he enjoys it.

:lmao: A real one...:lmao: You kill me...

And he's coming over to the Disney side DESPITE all of Jo's new friends?!?!?!:thumbsup2

The alarm went off about 6am, although DH and I had been awake for a while, those adverts where the adults are more excited than the kids are so true

I totally agree! I can NEVER sleep the night before. Not entirely true...I fall asleep about an hour before I have to wake up!:headache:

Did you dream Disney too??:confused3

The announcer was hilarious he was saying about a passenger on board who had a serious nut allergy so could everyone keep their nuts covered, well the whole plane was in hysterics :rotfl2:

 My virgin eyes!!!! Poor Tracy...she's missing this...:lmao:

He then went on to say about no smoking on board or in the airport and if any one found where they could smoke could they please let him know as he was dying for a smoke :rotfl:

Lastly as we were landing he said due to US regulations no dairy products, meat products or big bags of maltesers are allowed to be taken into the country so must be left with him!!!!!

Funny! That's why I like to fly Southwest...They do funny stuff like that too..makes flying a bit more fun

...get to the front of the queue when Ellie announces she feels sick, yeah right, so we tell her just to sit down

OH NO!!:sad2:

and what do you know she’s sick  all over the floor

:scared: Eeeewwww...

It's official...I hand my Mother-of-the-Year crown to you!!!

Now this is where I definitely become mother of the year, there are soooooo many people behind us that I find a bag and the lady behind gives me tissues rather than take her to the toilets,

Hmmmm....well, we did all agree to share the good, the bad and the ugly...

I know I’m a wonderful mum aren’t I but hey we didn’t lose our place in line :rotfl2:

:thumbsup2 That's the spirit!!!!

We found the ME desk pretty easily and I joined the queue of about 10 people, it moved pretty quickly too and everyone was getting Have a magical day, well guess who got a have a nice day

No way!! Doesn't that just figure....:headache:

The bus was waiting and as we were getting on the CM said “How are you doing” to the girls, I thought that was slightly weird!

Hmmm....but did he say it in a Joey Tribbiani kind of way?? THEN I'd think it was slightly weird...

You all must've been exhausted. But way to go in keep on schedule!!

Up next, how early can we wake up………

Wooooooo Hooooooo!!! So glad this has started!!:woohoo:

What a great start! (I mean the writing....the "sick" part--not so much)

Can't wait for more and I hope that's the only time anyone felt sick!

I'm here. Yay, you started. Can't wait to read all about your trip.

The DD’s and I have a tradition of going to the Body Shop and smearing our arms in all the body butters so we smell, well, imagine about 5 strong scents on our arms and be thankful you’re not sat next to us. :lmao:

I am SO flying Virgin next time I go transatlantic! Who knew they'd hired stand-up comedians for in-flight entertainment?!
So we safely arrived at MCO pretty much on time at 3pm, we headed to the passport control which always takes ages, get to the front of the queue when Ellie announces she feels sick
Oh no! Poor Ellie :guilty:
Now this is where I definitely become mother of the year, there are soooooo many people behind us that I find a bag and the lady behind gives me tissues rather than take her to the toilets, I know I’m a wonderful mum aren’t I but hey we didn’t lose our place in line :rotfl2:
Done like a true DISer :thumbsup2 :rotfl:
Big excitement for David when we spotted Nick Faldo, a top English Golfer, collecting his luggage too!!!!
And I'm still :confused3
We didn’t get what we asked for but the next building along 7B in the Ranchos
UGH. For the record, that is NOT where I was asking the Dinsey Reservation Gods to send you. :sad2:
This was after Jess had her turn at feeling ill!!!!
Jess too? Poor girls - what a way to start a vacation. :grouphug:

Fantastic start Jo!

And he's coming over to the Disney side DESPITE all of Jo's new friends?!?!?!:thumbsup2
Yeah, well, she hasn't gotten to THAT part yet - think he'll change his mind?

:hyper: Yay Jo!!! popcorn:: Look forward to reading more. I am sorry your little princess: got sick but you are right, saving your place in line trumps needing to use the loo! :rotfl2:

Yay!!! :cheer2:

I can't wait to hear all about it. Poor Ellie!!

Glad your luggage came in pretty good time, sounds like a good start aside from the sickness. :)

I can't wait to hear what goes on! :goodvibes

CE

It's about time, JO! :rotfl2: What are malteese? Isn't that a breed of dog?? ;)
That's too bad the girls starting off the trip by being sick! I hope that isn't a trend!

:yay: You've started!!! I missed you before you left and have been so good and patient waiting for everyone to return and start dishing the details!

So sorry the girls were sick. I did that once in Denver...found my way to a potted plant. NOT a pretty sight:eek: I hope they felt better after a good night's sleep.

Can't wait for more!

Well I thought it was about time I started this TR as I’ve now been back all of 2 days :rotfl2: If you want some light reading check out my Pre TR
Woohoo....I'm so excited!

DH, David a 35-year-old PGA Golf Pro
Never heard of him....until I met you, that is.
The alarm went off about 6am, although DH and I had been awake for a while,
Getting a quickie in before your Disney holiday? :woohoo:

we still made good time and went straight to Virgins bag drop as I’d already checked in online :thumbsup2
Virgins have a bag drop? Sounds scary....;)

The announcer was hilarious he was saying about a passenger on board who had a serious nut allergy so could everyone keep their nuts covered, well the whole plane was in hysterics :rotfl2:
I love when planes have a good crew. It really helps those who are a bit uneasy. JetBlue had a great crew who made us all laugh before take-off once and that really helped my mum.

So we safely arrived at MCO pretty much on time at 3pm
Anyone who read your PTR knew that you were on time thanks to me!

Ellie announces she feels sick, yeah right, so we tell her just to sit down and what do you know she’s sick  all over the floor  Now this is where I definitely become mother of the year, there are soooooo many people behind us that I find a bag and the lady behind gives me tissues rather than take her to the toilets, I know I’m a wonderful mum aren’t I but hey we didn’t lose our place in line :rotfl2:
Poor Ellie! But I don't blame you.

Big excitement for David when we spotted Nick Faldo, a top English Golfer, collecting his luggage too!!!!
Now Nick Faldo I've heard of!

Back to the room to find our luggage still not there so the girls went to sleep in their birthday suits :rotfl:

Up next, how early can we wake up………
Okay...I'll bite....how early?

Hey Jo! Just wanted to let you know I'm subscribed, and I'll catch up as soon as I can.

Denise

Ok Jo , I am hear on time for the TR!!
Glad to hear the flight was well and you even got some free entertainment:rotfl2:
I just heard that Virgin is going to start trans-con flts here in the US.
Sorry the girls got sick, its a lousy way to start the trip but the good news is it can only get better from here:lmao:
Cant wait to hear all about EVERYTHING!!!
Thanks for starting so soon.

Ahem....top Jo supporter would like a moment.....<<BEEP>> The time is now 3:29 pm EDT and I expressively said to wait until I returned from my 12 allergy shots to start your TR??? And now, I'm post 18....:guilty: :sad1: :sad1: Oh well, the party can start now!:woohoo:

OK some quick introductions…..

Me, Jo a 34 year old SAHM who loves WDW and is totally addicted to the DIS boards, just ask my DH :lmao: This was my sixth trip.
AKA Caravan Queen
before the taxi arrived at 7am.
So the taxi was a good idea?? How much did it end up being?? (we had discussions of your taxi and bus needs during my vacation!)

smearing our arms in all the body butters so we smell, well, imagine about 5 strong scents on our arms and be thankful you’re not sat next to us. :
And it's because of folks like you that I had to have 12 more allergy shots this week...;) (but I get an instant headache with any perfume--church kills me sometimes)

big bags of maltesers are allowed to be taken into the country so must be left with him!!!!!
 Malted Milk Balls per chance???

Did you like your room? We stayed in the Ranchos too--I liked it, but it was too spread out for my FIL--but the little golf cart people helped him a bunch.

I never knew that Virgins should cover up their nuts! And they say the boards are not educational!

OK, I'm caught up. You all must have been so exhausted after a 9 hour flight! I'm impressed that you had the energy to swim and eat. I would have probably gone right to bed!

Looking forward to more.....are you going to include pictures?

Denise

P.S. Have a MAGICAL Day! pixiedust: I get a bit miffed when I don't get my 'Welcome Home' when we check in, so I understand. ::yes::
Well done on being first Michelle, you know it gets competitive around here :rotfl2: And so pleased you understand :goodvibes

Sounds like you had a very entertaining flight.

So sorry the girls were not feeling well!:sad2:
Thanks Lessa (it is Lessa isn't it?) they soon got better :)

Great start Jo! I wouldnt have gotten out of line either! Looking forward to more!:thumbsup2
Glad I'm not the only one who wouldn't get out of line :rotfl2:

And he's coming over to the Disney side DESPITE all of Jo's new friends?!?!?!:thumbsup2
I know, after meeting all of you I'm surprised he hasn't put a lock on the DIS :rotfl2:

Did you dream Disney too??:confused3
Not sure didn't write that down :lmao:

 My virgin eyes!!!! Poor Tracy...she's missing this...:lmao:.
She's back tonight :cool1:

It's official...I hand my Mother-of-the-Year crown to you!!!
Why thankyou I graciously accept :rotfl:

Hmmm....but did he say it in a Joey Tribbiani kind of way?? THEN I'd think it was slightly weird...
Yep said in the Joey way

What a great start! (I mean the writing....the "sick" part--not so much)
Thanks Cherbear :)
