We just got back from our fourth family trip since '99, and have yet to see the fountains in Epcot operating. You know, how they shoot up in time to music. And I also remember leap frog fountains there as well, but we've yet to experience any fountains doing anything while there. I assume they operate only sporadically ...?

We were there in October and the leap frog fountains were up and running- DS2 had a ball with them!!

We've been there several times and have always make sure to watch the fountains. We generally go during the slower winter months when EPCOT is the only one open late and every time we are there, they are going.

each time we have gone, Fountain of Nations is working.
All those little fountains that the kiddos like to play in were working as well.

Sorry you missed them.

The "central" Epcot fountain (Fountain of Nations) operates virtually every day /all day well into the night (unless its "down for rehab").

It "performs" with music every 15 minutes: on the top, bottom and quarter-hours.
Otherwise (in-between shows), it just shoots a constant smaller water-flow from many of the jets.

The "leaping" fountains in front of "Imagination/HISTA" run every day / all day as well.

Over the past several years (15-20 trips) I've seen these fountains "do thier thing".
You must be one UNLUCKY tourist! :rotfl:

We noticed the central fountain not working once, and we asked about it. Seems as though the folks in the nearby vending stands can get rather wet when the wind blows their way. Once shut down due to wind, they must send the fountain guy home for the day because there was no wind at the time we asked.

Hey phantom728 -- I just bought DW the Phantom DVD for her birthday and it's been playing non-stop for 3 days. I can run to the DISboards, but I can't hide ;-)
