Founding Member status?

Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone knew anything about Founding Member status if you purchased your DVC membership through the DL office here in CA. Our guide told us that since we purchased our membership here in CA namley the DL office we are now founding members and when the GCV's come up for sale the founding members get first crack at purchasing points, then DVC members and then will become open to the general public. I've read a few posts in threads about other topics mention both the truth of this and the myth so I'm looking to see what others might know. I also called MS and the person I spoke with had never heard of such a thing but assured me if its what my guide told me it must be the truth. I don't have a reason to doubt my guide, she came across to me as a very genuine sincere person and came highly recomended. So what might you be able to tell me?

Yes, what your guide told you is a possibility. Where are you in your purchasing process?

There would be paperwork included with your purchase that you would sign explaining the founding member status. When we did our add on we were supposed to receive it. I had to contact quality assurance to get the paperwork as it was not originally included with our other papers.

Since MS doesn't deal with sales I'm not surprised that they were unaware.

I understand it just as you do. I hope we are both right because that was why we decided to add on while at DL. We bought 100 points just so we could have 'founding member' privledges for GCV. Being from Ohio I don't plan on going there every year but want to have the 11 month booking window for when we do go or when the DCL moves ships over there. Plus I figure it would be a good stopping point on our way to or from the resort scheduled to open in Hawaii.

Op that is correct. We purchased our AKV contract in Anaheim and also received founding members status for GCV.
