Found out how to get Disney Dollars!

Posted this on the theme park board but remember seeing post about DD here too.

I went to my Disney Store today and they said that new Disney Dollars will not be available until May. She did however give me a piece of paper with a phone number to order them.

Call WDW Central Reservations at 407-939-7639 to order them.

To all Disney lovers and others who are simply trying to get Disney Dollars.

Unfortunately, the only way to get Disney Dollars is by mail order.
I called the 1-407-934-7639 which answers as Resort Reservations and they told me that the only way to get the dollars is through mail order.

I was not convinced yet and called 10 different Disney Stores in three states and got the same answer that they were not going to have them in the store until May.

I called the World of Disney store in NYC which IS affiliated with Disney and they do not have Disney Dollars. Lastly, I called WDW Merchanding and got the same answer MAIL ORDER... ARGH.

OK So here is the routine.

Send your request to:
WDW Ticketing
Attn: Disney Dollars
PO Box 10140
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830

Send a check or money order, the woman on the phone said that they "probably" take credit cards too. At this point I did not bother to ask how that would be done.

Next include the amount of each desired denomination ($1, $5, or $10).

The shipping charge is $3 unless you want "Express" delivery (5-7 business days) then it is $10.

$3 to ship paper (well, I guess it is Money)? We use them to Save for vacation so I guess we are waiting until May. Thanks for the info - I was going to pick some up at my Disney Store this week (I'll still try though).

I was told today (St. Louis) that Disney Dollars will be back in stores in May. According to the CM they are preparing for the new 50th anniversary DD. I hope this is true. Like so many others I like collecting them to help save for my upcoming trips!!!! I can remember a while back when the Disney store was sold to The Children's Place clothing chain. It was talk back them (last fall) if the Disney store would continue to sell DD.

Just Great. I was planning on giving a little girl in my DD Kindergarten class some Disney Dollars this week because she will be going for the first time. I wanted to make it a little bit special for her. Now what am I going to do, I will not have time to mail them and I am not paying $10.00 for the express shipping.

You may be able to buy them at your resort upon check in (or somewhere else on property if you're staying offsite). You can find a way to buy them without her seeing and make it seem like "magic" - maybe include a small Princess pen or something like that with them?? You can do it, Mom!!

I am not going to be going with them. The Mom just mentioned it to me at a B-Day that they were going. And they have not been before because they have had some financial problems. But someone gave them the tickets and that is how they are able to go. I don't think they will be staying overnight or I would find out where they are staying and have them sent over. You know how all of us Disney Freaks like to make everyone's trip as magical as ever.

Oops, I misread, sorry. I thought they were for your DD. I'd probably just give her cash then "for her trip" and maybe get some other little Disney thing she could enjoy. I bought my DD7 a Disney Princess pocketbook that she took with her on our trip. I think I got it at Walmart. Good luck.

No problem. Disney Dollars are just so special.
I will probably end up doing a little Disney type package instead if I can't get my hands on some Disney Dollars. I have to look and see my DD might still have some left from our last trip. I could take those and just replace them with interest of course.

Nope no special deals on DD's. They are fun especially for kids. And they spend like cash anywhere in "The World"

Are the ones that you can order the old ones or are they the new ones? I'm guessing they are the old ones and the new ones won't be released anywhere until May? I want to get some to put in my dd's Easter cards. I haven't told them we are going yet, and that is how I was going to surprise them.

NOPE! It's just like monopoly money only you CAN use it at WDW at the Disney stores (and I'm pretty sure I saw some change hands on the cruise as well).

The kids really enjoy it but you have to make sure they know it IS money (in Disney)! We use them to save for our trip since you can't use it anywhere else and mailing them in to turn into US dollars is too much trouble.

BTYW, any of you holding some old DD - did you see what they go for on ebay???!!!! I have $1 DD from 1997 in a photo scrapbook maybe I can turn it into $5 for my upcoming trip

My Local Disney Store still has a few Disney Dollars left. I was able to get them for the Little Girl in my DD Kindergarten class.
