Found this on mousesavers.

With a promo code they provide, you can get a 2 day/2 park pass for $79.99 for an adult, and just $67.99 for a child off of Ticketmaster. For a family of 3, that's a savings of about $70 off of AAA's price.

Has anyone used these tickets with no problems?

Some people have reported that the tickets from ticketmaster do not allow you to park hop.

Mousesavers recommendations are pretty reliable - they do say this type of offer is normally targeted to a specific group, but in this case anybody can purchase with the promo code. Mousesavers did indicate that tickets have to be used by 12/15. If you are only planning two days in the parks - this is a very good deal. You may want to check into the parkhopper feature - if this matters to you.

If you buy a 1-Day/2-Park or 2-Day/2-Park, of course you can hop. That's part of the ticket type. 2-Park means exactly that -- you can visit both parks each day.

We have a poster here who says that her two day/two park ticket from ticketmaster was denied when she tried to enter the second park on the same day.

I just went thru my trip folder so that I could tell exactly which tickets I am talking about. The tickets I purchased were thru Ticketmaster, and they said they were a "two day-two park pass." I'm sure there are different kinds of tickets available. My main reason for giving this piece of advice about the tickets is so others would be aware of this situation, make sure what kind of tickets they have before they go, and not have to experience a disappointment on their vacation. Know before you go.:thumbsup2 The Universal guest relations confirmed that the way my tickets worked were for entry into two parks, either on the same day or separate days; the bottom line was that it got you into two parks, not two days' worth of entry. Sorry to be less than helpful with my bits of advice--that wasn't my intention:)

Here's another thread with posters having issues with the tickets. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2024269&page=1&highlight=ticketmaster

It sounds like the other poster was given the wrong tickets by ticktmaster. Foodlover is correct. Two day/two park tickets allow park hopping even if they are from ticket master. Sometimes ticketmaster tickets don't scan correctly at the turnstiles. So if you have a problem, just go to guest services and they should fix it for you.

ETA: after re-reading the post quoted by damo, I think there was some misunderstanding . One day/two park tickets can only be used one day but they are park hoppers. The only two day tickets that aren't park hoppers are the kind you get from timeshares. They are two day/one park tickets and can only be used in the same park for both days. There are no two day tickets that allow entry into one park only per day and the other park only for the next day.

Here is her first post.
Have lunch outside on the piazza one afternoon. It's such a glorious feeling to sit outside within that setting--we've been to Italy, and it brought back all those memories. And, it's a great break from touring Universal. We took the boat back for lunch one day and then went swimming and then headed back to Universal for the late afternoon and evening. Great way to spend the day.

Eat gelatto at the Gelateria (I don't think I spelled that correctly, and I'm being lazy and not looking it up:upsidedow ). The times that they are open are kind of odd, so check it out so you'll know.

Shop in the gift shops. I found a great bargain on a Brighton tray I'd had my eye on back home for over a year.

Enjoy the hot tubs--both of them. The quieter one (I'm referring to the two pool areas) is nice to be away from the crowd, but the bigger one is more fun.

Take the walk from Portofino to Hard Rock. It's a nice walk.

The singing tenors was about a 15 min show, and it was really good. Great to sit outside, soaking it all in, listening with all the lights twinkling, on this beautiful Italian piazza.

The breakfast at the restaurant (I don't remember the name--it's on the piazza downstairs--they have inside and outside seating) was phenomenal!!! A wonderful buffet--best breakfast of our entire trip.

A side note about the two-day Universal tickets--it means that you can go to either Universal or Islands of Adventure two days, not that you can go to both parks for two days (in other words, you can't "park hop" with it). We made this mistake of going to Universal one morning, and then going to Islands that afternoon, thinking that we would go back to Islands the next day, but we'd already used both days' entrance in one day. We could have gone back to Universal that same day, and then Islands the next day, but not both parks in one day. (I hope this makes sense). :confused3

We were fortunate to have club level, and it was a real treat. They are so very helpful and courteous there and the food was really good. But, if you don't have club level, you'll still feel like a million bucks in this resort. It's just so nice to be surrounded by such lovely surroundings.

It truly is a wonderful resort. Can't wait to go back.:flower3: I'm happy for you that you have it all in front of you--soak it all in and enjoypixiedust:

I questioned it too and she came back with the other post quoted above.

However, if Phamton says the ticketmaster tickets are good, then they are good.

Would something like this work?

Shoot - not enough posts to put the link. It's ebay item #230324056755

It's $79.99 for a 2 park/7 day admission--is something wrong with these tickets???

I would never buy a ticket from eBay as there is no way to verify if it has been used or not.

I think the ticketmaster tickets aren't the 7 day tickets since apparently they expire 30 days after first use or in full on Dec. 30/09

That would be the difference from the AAA tickets.

From mousesavers:

The 2-Day/2-Park tickets expire 30 days after first use or in full on 12/15/09, and they also include admission to the paid entertainment venues of Universal CityWalk for seven consecutive calendar days beginning and including the first day that any portion of the ticket is used.
Please note: this discount is primarily intended for employees of large companies and members of various organizations such as certain credit unions. I normally don't list discounts that are intended to be exclusive to a membership group, but this particular discount link and code is easily found through a Google search. The link and code are also being sold by unscrupulous people on eBay. I decided to go ahead and list this information, rather than letting my readers get ripped off on eBay.

But the feedback is excellent!! Oh, what to do....what to do.... :confused3

Do you really want to take that chance just to save $20? If the tickets have been used even one day, they will be confiscated at the gate. Even if they are perfectly fine tickets but don't scan properly at the turnstiles, you will have to go to Guest Services and answer some very specific questions about what name the tickets were ordered under. You may even be asked to show ID for the person who bought the tickets originally. Honestly, it is not worth the risk of losing the money you paid on those tickets just to save a few dollars. The tickets are not for resale and if they find out, you could lose your tickets and your money.

Give the money to Universal (rather than some random person on eBay) and do your part to keep the parks open during this time of financial hardships. :thumbsup2

I agree with Phamton give your money to Universal where you know the tickets are legit and you won't get ripped off and you will be doing your part :thumbsup2
