I like those bags of trail mix by fisher--like one a tropical that has dried fruit in it--others have cashews with mnms

that type of thing--usually the store has them for $1 each reg $1.89

anyways I put some in my mouth only to not be able to bite down on a piece

only to take it out to find out its a cherry pit!!!!!
how disgusting

god only knows what or who ate it and then "spmehow" it ended in the bag
I right away threw out the rest of the bag and actually rinsed my mouth with mouthwash

I wrote to the com who seemed concerned about it and is going to investigate and is sending me a (as in one) coupon for a free bag I wasnt impressed with the offer--

were in the middle of a pandemic and now I had something in my mouth that was in someone elses mouth

its just nauseating

if this was just cold food it would be one thing but to find something like this just sick

just needed tp vent

actually the tropical fruit bag dosnt have cherries even in it

its mostly bananas mango pineapple along with almonds and cashews

Im curious to see what there investagation finds out anything

Not necessarily. Fruit is supposed to be pitted before being dried, but mistakes happen. That is likely what occurred here. No one ate the cherry, just the machine that pitted it.
::yes::

I promise you the processing facility makes more than just the type of fruit mix you bought. If you'd read the label there was probably even some sort of disclaimer for potential cross-contamination. Here are some very common examples:
604629

Even cans of cherry pie filling or other products containing cherries often warn: Real Cherries. May contain pits.

It’s extremely unlikely that a factory worker spit out a pit into the bag of trail mix.

It is much more likely that they don't clean the processing lines well enough between runs of different products...and a PP is right - this is the reason for the "might contain" for companies to protect liability in case of allergic reactions from that kinda "cross-contamination"...

Some companies are MUCH better than others about the cleaning and decontaminating between runs...Hershey's is one (in my experience) that doesn't. If it has any products without milk, but it has the "may contain" label, it's a "does contain" from them...other companies I've had are much better:)...

Frito Lay has also been having that problem during Covid (every other month, they are issuing an allergy warning b/c of potential "wrong flavors" in the bags, which is really just a line ran through without cleaning the previous flavor out either well enough or at all)...
