I have seen a post or two where folks have gotten a FP+ for the reopened Lion King. However I have gone in both the mobile app and online trying to get this FP+, only to find it is not an option. If Disney going to insist on everyone using this system, they have got to have timely updates! So frustrated! Is there a trick I'm missing?

What date(s) are you looking at?

I see it for today and we have FotLK FP+'s for 6/21.

I am looking for 7/19...this is the only day we will be in AK in this trip...

Fp+ still hasn't opened for the end of June and going forward though July.

That is utterly ridiculous. 60 days is 60 days. As I said in the original post, Disney programmers need to step it up. Either they allow us to make FP+ at 60 days or they don't. Disney needs to make up its mind! Ughhh!!!

Certain attractions don't follow the 60-day standard. See Wishes, MSEP, Illuminations to name a few. Probably has to do with the scheduling of live events. This kind of information is found in the green link in my signature.

I also think it's because they are experimenting with the number of Fp+ for each show as well as how to load the theater. It doesn't seem fair for the Standby guests to be waiting in line and allowed to enter only after Fp+ guests have entered.

They had the same problem trying to determine how to load Fantasmic... took a few months of trials.

That's all well and good for those events that happen once or maybe twice a day. The events you list above are once a day events. FOTLK is a show like Nemo or Beaty and the Beast or Indiana Jones. These events happen 6-8 times each day. And the fact that it's not a new show (only a new location) should mean that they have previous experience with how to load the theater. There is no excuse that it is not available to book at 60 days.

I'm confused...isn't that the very definition of a fastpass? Priority to enter a ride or attraction? Standby folks have the same opportunity to get a fastpass, but if they choose another attraction while someone with a FP+ chose FOTLk, then I don't see the issues with them waiting while the FP+ folks enter.

The last FotLK performance on 7/19 will be at 4 PM. It ends early so Disney can setup for the Harambe Nights special event that's happening on Saturdays this summer (6/7 through 8/9).

Mesa - is there a way to post that link in the body of the message? Signatures don't show up on my phone - I'm trying to get up to speed for out next trip!
Also - does anyone know what the current loading procedure is for fotlk? It's DD's favorite thing and she's very eager to be front row, lion section....

I'm just the messenger.

So is she.

Honestly, FPs for shows have always been a weird combination in my opinion. Should FP-holders get to go in first? Should they get their own section? How is it faster? Each attraction does it a little differently.

I know...I'm just venting, LOL!

In my naive mind, I would just think that with Nemo being in the same park and being a similar type live show, that WDW would be a little better prepared to handle this issue.

Keep in mind that FotLK just reopened on 6/1 after being closed for 6 months. Disney may be trying to see what attendance numbers are and adjust show times accordingly.
