please explain how they do fotl, we are taking a friend with us will they be able to go with us on fotl?

You can have up to four key cards created for your room at HRH. So if you have less than four people staying in the room then the answer should be yes as they should be able to create one for your friend.

actually just have them do the four keys and then show one of them for your friend

and these keys will put you in the express line immediately. the only true front of the line access is the VIP tour.
