Hi guys.I've been to disney once and our family is heading to universal/IOA soon for the first time.(staying onsite). Is it obvious where to enter the rides...are there two lines...regular and fotl?I'm a self admitted commando but can we do universal alittle more leisurely.. even this busy time of year???

In most cases, the two lines are next to each other. All attractions that offer Express (Pteredon Flyiers is the only one that doesn't) will have signs indicating it. There will also be a CM at the Express line entrance who will scan your room keys.

As for your leisure pace question, the answer is yes. Because you will spend less time waiting in lines, you'll be able to tour the parks at a relaxed speed.

Yes...there are two lines...one is for Express and the other is the regular stand-by line. There is NOT a line that says FOTL...there is no such thing...it's only a term used on this board.

the motherland's fast pass is a ticket you have to get for a designated time.
you only ride once with that fast pass, and at the time period.

you can only get the fast passes one at a time.

the fotl perk that is offered to the onsite hotel guests, is wonderful
it allows the hotel guest to do any ride they want and as many times as they wish.

can you say Hulk 4 times in a row......
of course you get off the ride and reenter but no long waits in lines...

there are some dates that the express lines can have a decent wait of 10-15 minutes. sometimes it is walk on.
it all depends on the date you are there.

you will enjoy the express line usage.

this is one reason i do the motherland portion of my vacation first then follow it up with a stay at the darkside.

i get spoiled quickly with the express lines.......

::yes::

The difference can be just a day or hours!

In May 2007, we had this Express line for Jurassic Park River Adventure:

And the next day, the line was this:

Love macravens references to the motherland and the darkside. The fotl at US/IOA (aka the darkside) is wonderful. As much as we love the "motherland" after I chaparoned my kids band trip to Six Flags over GA (aka theme park hell) and had to pay for an express pass option (plus leave my drivers license and pray that the little monsters didn't lose the darn pass), it made the girls and I start thinking and yearning for a US/IOA return trip. (DH is up for it, he has no desire to return to the motherland for a while) Our last visit was in October of '06 and while the parks weren't super crowded, knowing that we had fotl for almost all rides allowed us to take our time.

After having gotten spoiled with EP over on the Darkside, we visit the Motherland a lot less these days.

So, can I say I'm a homie again? I know it's been a while since I've posted here, but mostly I've been on the CB :)

If you have access to the Express Line, make sure you look for it. Sometimes the entrance isn't obvious. On one ride, we made the mistake of assuming there was no express line, when in fact we just didn't see the entrance. I wish I could remember which one it was.

Before the Harry Potter construction, Dueling Dragons' Express Line entrance was away from the standby line. I'm not sure how they have it set up now during construction. Poppeye and Bluto's Express line entrance was also away from the standby line. Those are the only 2 that I can think of that don't have adjacent standy/ express lines.
