FOTL Question ???

We are staying on site in July and from what I gather we will have FOTL access, but our cheap friends will not be staying on site. We have tried to convince them to stay on site. And since they live so far from us we did want to spend time with them. Butwe are not waiting on line if we do not have to.

I read that there are FOTL passes available, for a fee, for those staying off site.

What do you know about these. What does it cost? Is it the same line as the other? Can you go on the same rides? ETC. ETC.

Yes there are free express passes which is the same thing that you have. You will be in the same line. They would have to get the pass early since on the most popular rides they would be gone quick. They can only get a pass I believe it is every 50 minutes or until the other pass is used.

Having Just returned from US/IOA I stayed on site and payed a lot of money to do so, wih that in mind you may want to let you friends know that the express pass that you can purchase only gets you fotl access to each ride ONCE. This pass cats 25 dollasrs per person and dependng on the number of people you have in you party it may not be worht the money for 1 ride. Also the was while I was ther a 2 hour wait for Shrek and 90 minutes for Jimmy Neutron . There is no other way I would ever go to US/IOA again it is sooooooo worth the money to be at the head of the line. I think my family would have done maybe 1/3 of the attrations we did thru the regular lines! Hopefully your friends will change their mind. Oh yeah and the other express passses that you get for free work like the fast pass at WDW they can only be gotten at certain times and they run out quickly so I would not **** on getting them for every ride! Have fun!!!!

There are express pass plus books, for anywhere from $15-25.00 and the pass is for 1 ride 1 time, the passes are scanned, meaning that if you use a pass for hulk, then that's it, no more hulk with express......... unless you buy another book.


Also, with your park entrance ticket, you can go to the express pass machine, outside the ride, put in your ticket, and get an express pass, with a time printed on it, at the time listed, you come back and ride using the express pass line. HOWEVER, you cannot get another pass for another ride until the first pass has been used, or 1 hour ( I think) has passed from the time listed, for example, your time posted to ride is 1:00, and you miss it, you have to wait until 2:00 to get another express ticket. ALSO, if you want to do this, go to the machine AS SOON AS you enter the park, because the times go quickly......... meaning, you may get your express ticket at 9 am for a ride at 6 pm............


FOTL for resort guest is totally different, you use your resort room key, it has YOUR name, and age printed on it, so NO ONE else can use it, it is scanned at each ride, and you can ride multiple times on almost every ride at the park, as much as you can stand!!! , so it is very much worth it!!!

The FOTL passes will be at their most expensive on July 1. So ask your friends are they saving more than $50 by staying offsite? Also get them to put a price tage on convenience, multiple rides, etc.

"Sell" them on staying onsite!

I'll share a few items I picked about Express pass from our visit to USO on 4/07/2004. Since this was in the middle of Spring Break it was a very busy week.

1. The Express Pass plus, which gets you onto each ride in the Express entrance once was priced at $25 that day. The problem was that they were already sold out (first thing in the morning) the day we were there from advance purchases.
2. We arrived at the park early and were one of the first people into the park. In the first hour Express passes were actually being handed out for some rides (Shrek and ET were ones) rather than having to swipe your ticket to obtain them. This allowed for getting more than the usual number of Express passes early in the day.
3. Once you have swiped your ticket to get an Express pass another one could not be obtained for 2 hours.
4. USO is more strict with the expiration time than Disney is with regard to the Express pass times. I was told if you showed up within a half hour of the closing time for the EP then you would not have a problem. I was able to use an EP that was 2 hours 'expired' by being nice to the ride attendant.
5. My family was able to ride all the rides at USO at least once and several including the new Mummy ride more than once by arriving early and using the regular Express Pass system. We did have to separate a few times and send someone to get an EP as soon as we were allowed to get the next EP. We left the park about 7 PM.
