FOTL for Hotel Guests to be limited for HP

They have put limits on express passes before. One summer, a few years ago, you could only ride each attraction once until after 4 pm or something like that. It was all monitored by their scanners.

i remember when shrek opened there was a month that had the 4pm start time for hotel guests.

it was used before when another main ride/attraction opened.

i only know of this happening in the summer though.

The 7 days we were there last time they only did a few times. I guess it does happen but only on a rare occasion. Someone tell me more about this early entry....in the past.... I didn't know anything about it.

there were some packages that allows the hotel guest to enter the park an hour early last year when i was there.

over the past few years, UO has allowed early entrance to ap holders besides hotel guests.

the one thing you can count on is that UO will allow peeps into the park prior to the official opening time if the wait line outside is great.

Yes, they have allowed early entrance in the past. I didn't realize they could scan your room key for that purpose, I've never had that happen.

The reservationist did say that there was to be an announcement on or about January 20 concerning this, so we'll just have to wait and see. We probably won't really know til HP opens and things get crazy. Can't wait for our trip in May I'll tell you!

Wow, I seriously had no idea. We go at least twice and sometimes 3 times a year, and even between Christmas and New Year's I've not had mine scanned. They do look at the date and make sure I have all 4 in my hand when I show them, but never once have they scanned them.

But I could see this being true and it's not really a big deal. I was advised when making my reservation over New Year's that Express was not included for Rip Ride Rockit or Pteranadon Flyers so I could believe that they're advising guests now.

Nope, no Express just yet. I would expect there to be no Express for Harry Potter when it first opens or for it to be limited for a while.

Yes, I remember that. It was when Mummy first opened, and we were staying at the HRH. You could only ride each ride 1 time before 3PM. After that, the restriction was lifted. It was really no problem because with staying at the resort, we hit all the rides once, then took a break at the pool, and headed back out in the evening and did the ones we wanted to again. That's pretty much how we do it anyway.

I just got off the phone with a reservationist, and she confirmed that *some* of the Harry Potter rides would limit express pass use to once per day, and *some* would have no limits.

I would presume that the castle ride will be limited, with no limits on Flight of the Hippogriff and Dragon. Just my guess.

That's probably what will happen since the two coasters aren't new. I think your guess is right on!

I hope you're right trstno1 - our little guy will be still too small to do Dragon or the HP ride, but he loved the smaller rollercoaster (aka Flight of the Hippogriff now). So hopefully that will be unlimited. Can't wait!

Just got off the phone with a reservationist and she confirmed that for the 3Harry Potter rides only - hotel guests express passes will be limited to 1 ride per day. All other rides will continue to be unlimited for hotel guests. This will be in effect indefinitely (probably throughout the year). An announcement about this is forthcoming this month.

I was told the same thing when we booked our room for May.
