Am I the only one annoyed?

Disney put out a limited addition of 1000 mens and 1000 womens watches. It seems as if some DVC members have bought them just to sell for a substantial profit on Ebay. The mark-up is pretty greedy. I guess thats capitialism. I am new to DVC but is this typical. I thought we were family. signed Mr Naive.

Doesn't annoy me at all. If I wasn't able to obtain the watch I have,I would definitely be looking on ebay.Not sure how high I would have gone,but I would have paid more to have it because I really wanted it.

I do want one and am going to bid on one but why does Disney only make so few if there are so many of us that would like to buy one. I understand the limited addition philosophy but only 2000?

Not saying anyone shouldn't be annoyed, but keep in mind that some of those popping up on eBay may be for a logical reason, not a greedy one. One of the sets I saw was listed at its original cost. A greed motive would dictate that your original bidding price be set higher than what you paid for the watches, not at cost. Just a thought. . .

It is possible the watches are being sold by people who are not DVC members. I don't know how they would have found out about the watches, but when I ordered mine, they did not even ask for my member number, so they probably would have sold one to anybody.

The pair of watches that were bid so high, I'm sure, did not go through. The bidder is not even registered any more. Curious as to why the seller hasn't relisted them yet, though. For that amount, maybe they took them to small claims court?

I am new to DVC but is this typical.

I think it's typical of everything; not just DVC.

For the record, I wasn't asked for a DVC # when I called to order one; however, I had someone pick one up for me and they were required to show their member card.

That limited to 1,000 thing is what makes it go on ebay.

I hadn't looked at one of these, so I went to ebay to look at the pictures. It is hard to tell from just a picture, but they look just like the watches they gave us a few years ago as gifts for our wedding, with the dvc logo instead of the gold castle on the face plate. Pretty nifty looking.

Resorts before purchasing on Ebay at inflated prices. They havent even released the second half of the watches yet, so they are not sold out. I will be there on the 26th and will be happy to check at BWV and I will report back.

In summary, 17 total DVC watches have been offered for sale.

Only 7 of the 17 have yet been sold, average sale price $192.93
with a range of $137.50 for a low to $225 each for first pair sold.

Another 7 of the 17, have not had a single bid made on them yet.

The other 3 will be sold later today with prices from $150 to $179.

I have not particpated in either the buying or seeling of these DVC watches on Ebay. I was lucky enough to get one from Vero for $125 + 14.95 shipping. I have just been curious what they're going for. I put mine in my safe deposit box at the bank Saturday.

IMO, these offerings are not annoying to me. There are so few being offered and the prices are not unreasonable, at least to those people willing to pay for them. The $2600 scared me too, but I was glad to hear that it must have been rigged and that the person responsible for it had been banned from future Ebay sales.
