Almost everyone I've seen experience the FW cabins has loved them. The nice thing about them is they're very close to the M/K but you get none of the hustle and bustle of the crowds when you return to your "room". They're quite large, yo uhave a private deck and parking space right in front of your unit. My son's favorite attraction were the bunnies (everywhere!) and everyone liked the option of taking the boats to the MK & monorail daily.

However, If you are person who needs to be in the middle of everything (nothing wrong with that :), this may not be for you.

There is a forum here specifically dedicated to FW, both camping and cabin questions and topics are posted there with many experienced folks to answer your questions

It really is a matter of personal preference. There is a lot of good things about the cabins, and many people love them. That being said, we tryed them one year, and they were just not for our family. We hated the transportation system at Fort Wilderness--it took a long time to get anywhere. We also hated the pools--they were not of Disney resort quality.
Also, as the last poster mentioned, you are somewhat isolated from all the Disney magic, or at least we felt that way. We disliked the experience so much that we moved to another resort after three days.

It is a different experience than we have had at any other Disney resort, and it just wasn't for us, but it really is a matter of personal preferences.

The cabins are wonderful, and Ft. Wilderness is the BEST campground, EVER. I spent many, many wonderful trips camping at the Fort. With my girls, we have stayed at the cabins several times. In fact, we love the Fort so much that we have just purchased a camper! We like the extra space, the full kitchen, and being in a separate area from our neighbors. There is so much to do at Fort Wilderness. Give it a try and you just may like it.

We love Fort Wilderness! We've been staying there for 18 years and it's our favorite place to stay! Some people think it's not Disney-like, but we disagree completely! The Disney magic is everywhere in FW! The Trading Posts, the restaurant, the dinner show, Mickey's Backyard BBQ, the Campfire Program every night with Chip & Dale, etc, etc. There's so much do to there! And, it's just a quick boat ride over to the Magic Kingdom!

You won't be disappointed! You'll love it too! :goodvibes
