has anyone recently stayed at Fort Wilderness who knows if the pony rides are still available? We are going in April and my granddaughter wants to ride one. Also we are planning on eating breakfast at chef Mickey's. what time does the boat start running that will take us over to magic kingdom so we can get to chef mickey's? As I understand the boat that goes straight to contemporary is not working right now. TY

Yes the pony rides are going on, there is actually a post on the Camping at Disney World that lists all the open activities at the fort.

The boat from FW to the MK will start departures from the Fort dock about 30 minutes before the scheduled rope drop time. There is often a line that forms and they currently are covid-limited in their capacity. There is a bus that leaves from the Settlement bus depot that is a straight shot to the MK bus depot (also covid limited to no more than 15 people currently). You are correct that the small boat that runs between FW, CR, and WL is not currently running (who knows by April) .

My understanding is that you should be able to drive to the Contemporary and park for the Chef Mickey breakfast if you have a reservation. The guard at the gate will scan your MB and if you have the reservation he should let you in to park (space permitting). That's assuming you have a vehicle to drive to CR.

Pony rides are offered 10a-3p at the new Tri Circle D Ranch horse barn across the road from its old location. Here is my photo from October with the details:

Note you can pay to lead the pony around once or twice.
