Fort Wilderness vows renewal?

Allison, we could put together something great at the Fort without Disney. We could do all decorations and do something on the beach and if we have the GG have food and drinks (I know we not big drinkers either, but somehow I keep going thru bottles of wine when I'm camping, (by myself)) at someone's campsite. It could be a blast and who needs Disney. They don't understand us campers anyway!!!

Some of you old timers may remember this short story.

A couple of years ago, during Year of a million dreams, I re-proposed to my wife of 33 years with a little help from some fantastic CMs at Disney World. It was not set up as an official thing through the Wedding organization, but with the help of a couple of Managers. They arranged a private meeting with my wife's favorite character, Mary Poppins. I had to coerce my wife to the area behind Britain in EPCOT. Very quietly they made sure other people were not near us when Mary Poppins walked out and over to us. My wife thought she had won a special year of a million dreams prize.....Nope just me. hahaha While Mary Poppins was giving her a special pin of Mickey on bent knee proposing to Minnie, I got down on bent knee behind her. They had a photographer there taking pictures and some of our kids were with us too. We didn't renew our vows there so that all our kids could be present at a later date. You have no idea how hard it is to keep something like that a secret!
Anyway, maybe with a little Pixie dust, arrangements can be made and hopefully not cost an arm and a leg.
BTW, the whole thing with us didn't cost anything. That certainly fit our budget...lol.
The tears said a lot though.
Oh, and she did say Yes and renewed our vows later.
Disney CMs are terrific!!!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Congrats! pixiedust:

You can have a vow renewal through Disney Fairy Tale Weddings starting at $1991 through the Memories Collection. The next cheapest is through Disney Cruise Line starting at $2500. Disney treats vow renewals and wedding identically.

What Disney does frown on is having wedding/vow renewal ceremonies on property that are not through DFTW, and they can actually ask you to leave. I'm really sorry to be a pooper.

There are other ceremony options though that are totally ok, like having something done at Fulton's, Characters In Flight, Swan and Dolphin, etc. These are restaurants/hotels/activities that are on Disney property by not owned by Disney.

There's nothing saying that you couldn't have a fabulous reception at the Fort either!

HTH! :goodvibes

Yea, right. :sad2: Pay $1991 for some fancy ceremony that doesn't match your personalities vs a small ceremony at your campsite with your friends for the cost of a couple Giddy-up-and-go's.

I say fly under the radar and do your own thing.

Let's do it! Heck, if we had a few renew vows that would be even more special! We don't need an "official" to do at because we are all married and this is just a re- commitment. Who here would do the officinatin? Imagine the fun the guys would have decorating the get away golf carts!

OMG I can hear the racket from a bunch of carts with beer cans tied to the back already!! :rotfl:

And I'm betting we have more than a few FrIENDS here that would jump at the chance to officiate. :thumbsup2
