We're eating dinner at Trail's End on Easter. Our PS is 5pm. We check into Poly that morning but we aren't really planning on doing anything.

We've never been over to Fort Wilderness. Our kids are 5, 6 and 7. I know they have a petting zoo and the campfire. How would you suggest we arrange everything around our 5pm dinner? What time is the campfire at? Will that leave time to do the petting zoo between dinner and the fire? What about the hayride? Do we reserve that in advance?

Any tips on what else to take in?

Also...If you were using Disney transportation, how would you get from Poly to FWL? We do have our van, so we can drive over. I just thought if it was a relatively enjoyable route, we'd use the Disney transportation. Although, second guessing myself already, if we stay for the fire, it would probably be best to be able to just hop in our van after.

Thanks..
Jess

I am not sure about the transportation. I think there is bus service to the MK I know there is boat service to the MK. Since you are staying at the Poly it isnt difficult to get to the MK and then transfer to FW.The MK is open late that night since it is Easter so transportation will be no problem if you decide not to take your van. ( The MK is open until midnight all week that week except for the following Sat.)

I would stay for the campfire the kids will have a great time. The movie that night is Winnie the Pooh Springtime for Roo. It is posted on the camping board.

I would take the monorail from Poly to Mk and then take the boat over to Ft. Wilderness like the other poster stated. If you drive your van, you have to park at the front of the campground and take their transportation to Trails End, but the boat is right there by it. The petting zoo is also by Trails End. We will also be there on Easter! We were there last month and my girls informed me that the petting zoo was being turned into a horse/pony stable. Most of the animals were gone except the pigs and a few goats. There is a playground across from Trails End (and rocking chairs on the porch) so the kids could be entertained until the hay ride, which is a first come, first serve basis. If you do decide to do the movie, you may want to consider bringing your own smores making kits as it does get expensive when buying for 3 little ones. Another idea is to bring a blanket to the movie. My kids love to lay down in front of the screen while watching the movie. There is stadium seating for the parents and also some log benches (with backs). I hope you enjoy the campground as much as we do. Enjoy your trip!

My memory could be wrong but I think that the petting zoo will be closed after 5, if it even exists anymore. After our dinner at Trails End, we hung out at the little playground and walked down by the beach before heading over to the campfire. Oh yes, they make a nice pina colada there too.

NB

Petting zoo is open but does close early. If you are interested, I would head over to FW early, do the petting zoo (you can wash little hands at the rest rooms over by HDD), then go to dinner at TE and head down to the meadows to the campfire and movie. I would take the monorail from poly to Contemporary and then boat to FW.
