Fort Wilderness Carriage ride

How scenic is the Carriage ride? We did the one that was offered at Wilderness Lodge many years ago and was VERY disappointed. Our driver didn't talk and the ride was in the pitch dark, going along the path between Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness. We just turned around at one point and went back. We couldn't see a thing!! With this Fort Wilderness carriage ride, do you go amongst the campground loops?

I was in loop 100 this past April and every night about 6pm while I was cooking supper or watching the Masters on tv the empty carriage would come around loop 100 and 200 as if to drum up business. Here is a snap:



Later in the evening it would come around with passengers in it (we would exchange waves). So you do get to go into the loops. How many and how long it lasts, I can't say.

For anyone else reading, in a similar way the Wagon Ride comes through the loops too (many more people to wave to!).
