I was running thru the deals portion for lodging. And I never see these mentioned for discounts. Are they not considered a "resort"?

With a larger family, it's the best deal on property.

Yeah, that’s what I thought. I guess that capacity is never an issue there. So no specials are ran.

I'm a little confused. You can get a discount on the Ft. Wildnerness cabins with the current Gift of Magic Room Offer.

I see and have booked discounts on the Cabins. I am not sure that I agree that they are the best deal for a large family though. Art of Animation and AS Music suites give you 2 bathrooms, more space, better sleeping arrangements, and better transportation. I LOVED using the golf carts at FW cabins, but they add $75 a day (?) to your cost and might only seat 4 family members (cannot reserve the 6 seaters). Otherwise, you have to use the internal bus system to get to the main bus stop areas/boat dock. (Or drive of course, but who wants to drive to the MK, and use TTC?)

Now the VIBE at the Fort is GREAT, and I could see how much the people staying there love it. Seeing kids riding bikes all around, and playing in the evening was not like any other Disney resort. I adored the golf cart, I really loved that thing. People are not rushing around! My husband LOVED it, and really wants to return. I have mixed feelings but if DH wants to stay there, we will and now that I know the system there it will go smoother (the busses confused us.)

I'm not sure that I agree, either. The best deal really depends on what you want. Cheapest for a larger family? No. You can get 2 rooms at a value cheaper sometimes. Or a family suite at All Stars. Best deal because of the kitchen? Maybe. It's definitely cheaper than a villa. But needing a car or a golf cart and the transportation issues makes it very inconvenient. It seems like one of those you either love it or hate it sort of places.

I very rarely see discounts, but I admit I need to have a better monitor as to when the opportunities arise. But when you mention suites v cabins. Are you including dining into the equation?

Transportation is still pretty strong. Having takes week long trips twice, the only times we have used our vehicle was to goto Universal.

Would you say that going suites with dining as opposed to provided kitchen being a comparable value?

Thanks

They are included in the Sun and Fun discount and they were also included in the free dining promotion that recently ended.

Yup ^^ - and cabins are included in the top two discounts that show up on the MDE page, save 30% 4/28-9/30 and save 20%1/3-4/27! I found a great rate with the save 20 for next month.

Can anyone comment on the Transportation? How often they run, good, bad indifferent? Also does general store sell alcohol or should we do a pre order of grocery supplies. I can't seem to find fact sheets? :(
