Anyone know if you are allowed to string lights up or decorate your cabin around Christmas time? Also, does Ft. Wilderness have a Christmas feel to it around Christmas. Are there any decorations?

Absolutely! In fact, some guests bring live xmas trees and decorate them for display on the deck of their cabin. I recommend the nightly hayride if you want to really feel the xmas spirit. You sing xmas carols and take a leisurely trek through the campground and cabin areas to view all of the xmas light displays and decorations of the guests. Some guests even brought those 8 ft- tall inflatable snowmen, santas, etc. You'll be amazed! I know I was.

When we stayed in 2001, my father and step-mom surprised us by getting access to our cabin before we checked in. They had a very small artificial tree, our xmas stockings from their house in Indiana hanging from the rafters, lights and other xmas goodies around the cabin. My kids loved it! I did too.

I recommend you send your box of decorations down via UPS to the resort about 2 weeks prior to your arrival. Clearly label it with the resort address and clearly lable your name (or the name under which you made the reservation) as well as your dates of stay at the resort.

Hope this helps! :wave2:
