For kid fishing,,in the canals that run between loops. and the 300 loop canal.
For big boyz fishing , the lake , between the campground and the WL,,BUT ya gotta be willing to wade(some trashy shore line,,sorry)

Thanks a million, Frank! I'll have one kid and one big boy who's more like a kid so the canals it shall be! The 300 loop looks nice and has a lot of grassy area to sit! ....and if DS gets tired he can go to the playground.

Evenin all!! Home and the camper is parked and emptied of anything that will explode in the heat or start growing penicillin.

Clothes are in the washer. Gosh it was HOT!!!!!! the last couple of days. I got in my truck Friday for an errand and for a minute or two it said it was 106!!! After packing up this morning and a COLD shower, got in my truck and it said it was 102 for about the first 10 miles!!!

Don't think I've ever been that hot campin. I'm actually kind of worried about 4th of July at the Fort. Yes, we've got AC in the camper, but with it so small there's not much sittin room. Always just used the inside for sleepin and changin clothes. We may have to spend the middle of the day shoppin (grrr) just to have AC

Us either! Hit 100 (or very darn close) today in SC! HOT! HOT! HOT!

Gonna be missing from the boards and didn't want any funeral plans being made....so I thought I would tell everyone that the KFK family is headed out to Thurmond Lake for a few days for our annual pre-Fort camp-o-rama! It is official...our camping season is underway and KFK has purchased a fishing liscence for the first time in ...well....I don't even remember! Better keep the cameras rolling, that's gonna be one for America's Funniest Home Videos!

(Thanks Frank! Your enthusiasm for fishing inspired me to make sure my DS gets to enjoy the simpler, finer things in life!)

Good morning everyone!

My girls have their first swim meet of the season today. Our community pool and clubhouse were severely damaged in the Nashville flooding last month, and the pool finally opened for practice a couple weeks ago. So, our team (which is just a team made up of kids in our subdivision) is competing today against a good Country Club team from Nashville, with very little time to prepare.

This is not going to end well!

BUT, DD12 and DD14 are so excited! And, this is DD14's first meet ever...she just took up swimming this year. I'm so proud of her that she is putting herself "out there" and taking this up at her age...when most of the swimmers have been competing for years. And she has a great attitude. She has pointed out that the top finishers get blue, yellow and silver medals, and it goes down from there to the "prettier" colors. And she would rather have a pretty ribbon than a blue one! She's an awesome kid!
