Okay then my apologies...to each his own

I don't mind dogs, it's the owners I can't stand. When you have a dog, you should realize not everyone appreciates the smell, the slobber, the noise... of your little babies. There's a place for dogs, and there's place for people. Sooner or later there will be an unfortunate accident at the resort involving a dog in a place that was prohibited. You'll see it on the news and the first thing the owner will say is that doggie's never done that before and how sorry they are... And then that will be the end of dogs at FW. If you lve your dog so much, how can you leave it locked up in a trailer all day while your at a park or pool?
That wasn't even an original pot-stirring. I'll go pet my dogs while you think of something better.![]()

What is the solution then? I have two dogs who are not 'socialized'. We have taken them camping a few times hoping they'd fit in & enjoy the outdoors but found it wasn't worth our hassle as they constantly barked at people, which created stress for us. They didn't enjoy camping, and neither did we. Every camper I apologized to said not to worry, but I was terribly embarrassed that they wouldn't behave. So we now leave them at home with our 5 kitties (yes I'm a cat lover too). But, even at home they don't enjoy it with me being gone. I compare this to your question....how could I leave them locked up all day at home with a teenager watching them who doesn't want to play with them, pet them, scratch them & give them people food treats? and this is day & night for up to 2 weeks. I think the doggies at FW in the trailers have it better.
Ok I'll bite (pun totally intended)... true that there are always those irresponsible people that think the rules don't apply to them and the rest of the world be damned. Some of them are dog owners... and some of them are parents, golf cart drivers, and ....well.... just plain humans.
Those of us here that ARE responsible about our pets get just as annoyed at "those people" as non-pet people because they ruin it for the rest of us that really do try hard to make sure both our pets AND our neighbors are happy.
That said, I have only one more thing to add, and that would be a photo of a totally miserable dog enjoying the 2nd 3-week vacation she's spent at WDW in the camper mom and dad bought her...

...and yes, we packed that extra chair just for her.![]()

In an effort to make FW a noise free zone, Bobby has announced Disney's Noise Eradication Program, heretofor known as DNEP. First, no children, pets, golf carts or busses will be allowed on FW proper. Second, a mass extermination of all annoying wildlife will begin. Third, all boat whistles will be silenced, as will the the EWP and train whistles at MK. Fourth, fireworks will be replaced with LEDs. Fifth, horses will be outfitted with slippers so wagon and carriage rides may continue, since this is a good source of revenue for the Mouse. Finally, all CM's will only be allowed to communicate in American sign language, and guests will be provided with notepads and pens to allow communication. He is still working on how to eliminate that annoying breeze in the trees.
I have advised him to start clearing any and all landscape, including all trees.
I also advised him to post a new rule that no awnings or any hanging of flags of any sort are allowed due to the flapping in the wind noise and no OUTDOOR CLOTHES HANGING! Lord knows we can't have both sight pollution and noise pollution when they flap in the wind. It is also now required that if you bring a pet that it must have had it's vocal cords removed.![]()
I always remember the peacocks screeching at the top of their lungs every morning and evening! I do miss the peacocks though. So, I guess there's always noise in a campground. I take the dog barking, along with all the other little noises that go in a campground -- people clanging pots and pans, kids running around and yelling, golf carts driving by, buses, Electrical Water Pageant floating by, fireworks, people talking, etc. Doesn't bother me a bit. (Unless of course, somebody leaves their barking dog alone all day long in their motorhome.) But, a little barking here and there is not a big deal to me.![]()
WDW1979 I have to agree with you we have gone for years to FW and we have dogs. There are good owners and not so good owners and the few of the later seem to ruin it for everyone else. I really felt this was a bad decision by the campground.
I dont know how many dogs I have seen loose, dirty campsites and surrounding areas and dogs in areas they are not supposed to be. The freedom to bring your pet has gotten abused my a minority.
If you go into the parks, you see the same with "handicap" guests. I actually saw a boy in a wheelchair so his family could get great seating for the fireworks at Epcot. Guess what???? As soon as the fireworks were over, he magically recovered and took off running. Must have been the Disney Magic.![]()
